GO BIG
For a dark and moody or industrial look, opt for slate or charcoal colours. Large tiles may not be a traditional splashback material, but we love the point of diff erence.

DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS
Think outside the box and move away from subway tiles and towards a product with a contemporary, luxurious feel.

FEATURE WALL
Introduce an element of interest into an otherwise neutral kitchen. We love the addition of this mosaic feature. It’s an easy way to bring colour into the space too. The pairing of navy with white, or grey and white are timeless looks.
PRODUCT ALERT
The 3D Lips Wall Matt Rectified 300x600mm tile will introduce an element of texture to your kitchen. It’s available from Jerry and the Tilemakers.
MEASUREMENT MEASUREMENT
When starting a tiling project, it’s important to get your calculations right. Begin by drawing up the space with a pen and paper and use that as a guide to determine what area of the room you want to tile. For a splashback, measure the length of the wall up and down, followed by the width left to right. Next, multiply the length and width measurements to calculate the total square meterage. Always allow for more tiles – multiply your square meterage by 15 per cent to determine how many tiles you should buy.
