HOME FRONT

With property prices on the rise, residents are either renovating with new-found equity or flipping to make a profit. The first impression of a home is the most important, and this is a home’s facade, the street appeal.

Many homes on the Sunshine Coast have similar characteristics to this weatherboard beach house – a double-storey, flat facade with little or no articulation. These homes can be challenging to renovate, but our client’s love for a sleek modern look gave us some great inspiration on how to convert this old beach house into a modern and chic home.

With the brief to keep the Dulux Monument colour dominant, and to create a modern facade within a sensible budget, we set to work with how best to transform the street appeal of this property.

the need for more definition. We achieved this by designing wider external window framing and window shades, which also provide protection from the aft ernoon sun.

The addition of a soft entry path takes the edge off the modern frontage and incorporates a human and inviting scale, welcoming the homeowners and their guests to the home.
