MYSTERY RANCH designs and manufactures packs for the job that needs to get done, supporting customers who rely on our packs to get home at the end of the day. Our Warranty guarantees everything we build against defects in materials and craftsmanship for the practical lifetime of the product. We will happily offer repair or replacement for issues with materials or craftsmanship. Damage due to normal wear and tear or misuse can be repaired for a reasonable charge.

In 2014 MYSTERY RANCH took the first step toward offering our customers NFPA certified products by building their quality management system and having it certified to ISO 9001. The next step was to provide third party, Underwriters Laboratories (ULÂŽ), with samples that comply the load-carrying design and performance requirements of NFPA 1977, 2016 Edition and pass the heat and thermal shrinkage resistance test. Fire packs are used to carry tools, food, water, and other items crucial to the safety of the user. Not only do the packs need to withstand a certain level of heat without failing, the buckles still need to be functional after exposure to ensure continued use in the field. Now, MYSTERY RANCH is continually expanding the array of wildland fire products that are NFPA certified, and we are proud to serve the brave men and women that risk their lives for our safety.

A hosepack for progressive hoselays. Hose lays are hard work, no matter what the fuel type or region. We designed our Hosepack to carry a range of hoselay styles, be it a Smokey or Travis, a Lake George, an internally packed variation on a Gasner or Jarbo, or simple rolls. We’ve fit up to 200’ of 1.5” and 100’ of 1” hose into this shell, while built-in bolsters provide airflow and stability.

THE

BACKBONE SERIES Created to educate the public on the sacrifice and work that goes into responding to the wildland fire environment.

The MYSTERY RANCH Fire Line is founded on the backs of a professional workforce whose primary duties are the suppression and management of wildland fires.

These men and women are trained and built for their mission. They ask for very little yet serve the American public, lead from the front, and risk their lives to protect public lands, lives, and private property. To recognize the efforts of these men and women, MYSTERY RANCH would like to introduce the Backbone Series.

The Backbone Series will highlight the backs behind the packs – the faces that put on the packs and boots on the ground – the backbones of which the MYSTERY RANCH Fire Line and the Federal Fire Response has been built.

To fuel this educational campaign, we have created the MYSTERY RANCH Backbone Scholarship MYSTERY RANCH would like to solicit contributors for the Backbone Series and educate the public on the realities of a career in Wildland Fire – the good, the bad, and the ugly. In return, contributors will be eligible for the Backbone Scholarship.

These $1000 scholarships will help the men and women that go above and beyond in the off-season. Fire Classes, medical training, and college education aren’t cheap. Countless men and women work for Federal Land Management Agencies as Forestry Technicians and seek to better themselves in the off-season to compete for permanent appointments. Some individuals use fire as a means to assist with greater life goals and objectives.

10% of proceeds from these unique packs will fund the scholarship and winning contributors will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Winners will be selected anonymously throughout the duration of the campaign.

HARNESSING & WAISTBELTS Like Voltron, multiple elements combine and work in concert to form a system greater than the sum of its parts. The Fire-specific yoke features our patented Futura adjustment system that telescopically adjusts to any user’s torso length, and houses a framesheet/adjuster whose aircraft-grade 7075 Aluminum stay is pre-curved to match the contour of the upper back. In the body of the bag, HDPE plastic backed by a vertically mounted fiberglass rod form the foundation of the framing, bridging between the yoke and the structure of the Fire belt. A patented lumbar system ties into the structured wings of the belt, completing load transfer through the body to anchor in the hips and core.

They also feature a re-direct waist belt system that secures in a natural, forward pull direction that requires less effort to tighten and with patented features and construction methods, the waist belt cants and conforms over the hips to effectively transfer and distribute the weight eliminating slippage down over the hips.
