School District 151 Veterans Day Ceremonies

You are invited to attend our 1st annual School District 151 Veterans Day Ceremonies on Monday, November 10, 2014. The program will be presented at five sites, with each ceremony lasting approx imately t went y minutes. The tentative schedule for the morning is as follows: 9:00 a.m. - Ceremony at Holland Home Retirement Home, 16300 Louis Ave., South Holland 9:45 a.m. - Ceremony at Taft School, 393 E. 163rd St., Harvey 10:30 a.m. - Ceremony at Coolidge Middle School, 155th & 7th Ave., Phoenix 11:00 a.m. - Ceremony at Eisenhower School, 16001 Minerva Ave., South Holland 11:30 a.m. - Ceremony at Madison School, 15700 Orchid Dr., South Holland Included in each program will be a presentation of colors, a patriotic number performed by the school band, an invocation, a brief address by a student on the importance and meaning of Veterans Day and an introduction of guests. Among those invited to participate as honored guests are: Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Mayor Don DeGraff, Mayor Eric Kellogg, and Mayor Terry Wells. Several local area veterans as well as currently active officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps may be on hand to represent the military at the Veterans service. ZUMBA® Classes NEW SESSION! The Village of is excited to continue offering Zumba® classes with Bea Orendorff. Bea’s class is tailored to any level of fitness. Greek Step Tribute Dolton Park District is having a fundraiser to benefit the “Steven R. Agee II Foundation”. Steven R. Agee II was the College Student that was murdered at Northern University in November, 2011. This was his senior year; he was the President of his Kappa Chapter. His parents have started a scholarship foundation in his name. The Mission of the foundation is: The foundation awards scholarships to deserving students in pursuit of higher education. Dolton Park District is dedicated to assist with this mission as we believe education is important. We are asking for the assistance of all Greek Sororities and Fraternities to participate in the Step Tribute.
