Celebrating Our Differences Multicultural Wellness Network (MW N) is hosting Celebrat i ng Ou r Di f ferences : Yesterday, Today a nd Tomorrow annual awards and fundraising dinner on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Center of Visual and Performing Arts, Munster, Indiana. This year’s event is extra special because we are celebrating our 15th year of service to the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area. The event will include dinner, celebrity waiters, awards program and silent auction. We will showcase the past 15 years of MWN’s services, starting with its humble beginnings managing its first program, MOTTEP, Minority Organ and Tissue Transplant Education Program. The vision of founder and executive director, Shelia George, has blossomed into the current health and wellness organization we have today. The awards ceremony will honor individuals and institutions that have supported us over the years through partnerships, collaborations and financial support. Many of these organizations are continuously working hard toward promoting prevention, wellness, organ and tissue donation awareness and transplantation in our community. Our celebrity waiters are leaders from our communities who work towards improving the health and wellness of our population. Tickets are available for $60.00 per person. Multi-level sponsorship slots are still available. Monies raised at this event will benefit the community outreach programs provided by Multicultural Wellness Network. Multicultural Wellness Network, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides public awareness and l i fest y le cha nge prog ra m s desig ned to empha si z e t he wellness concept. Our education topics include: hypertension, diabetes, nutrition, exercise, sarcoidosis, lupus, and organ and tissue transplant/donation. We have been proudly providing education programs for the underserved communities in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area for 15 years. South Holland School District 151 Veterans Day Celebration You are invited to attend our 2nd annual School District 151 Veterans Day Ceremonies on Monday, November 10, 2015. The program will be presented at five sites, with each ceremony lasting approximately twenty minutes. The tentative schedule for the morning is as follows: 9:00a.m. - Ceremony at Holland Home Retirement Home, 16300 Louis Ave., South Holland 9:45a.m. - Ceremony at Taft School, 393 E. 163rd St., Harvey 10:30a.m. - Ceremony at Coolidge Middle School, 155th & 7th Ave., Phoenix 11:00a.m. - Ceremony at Eisenhower School, 16001 Minerva Ave., South Holland 11:30a.m. - Ceremony at Madison School, 15700 Orchid Dr., South Holland Included in each program will be a presentation of colors, a patriotic number performed by the school band, an invocation, a brief address by a student on the importance and meaning of Veterans Day and an introduction of guests. Among those invited to participate as honored guests are: Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Mayor Don DeGraff, Mayor Eric Kellogg, and Mayor Terry Wells. Several local area veterans as well as currently active officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps may be on hand to represent the military at the Veterans service.
