Volleyball Summer Camp The South Suburban College Volleyball Program is now accepting registration for their summer camp June 27-30, 2016. The goal of this camp is to improve each camper’s f undamenta ls a nd to have some f un a long t he way. Beginners will learn the basics of serving, passing, hitting, setting and team drills. Beginner’s boys and girls ages 3-8th grade camp is 9 a.m-10 a.m. Beginner’s camp will also include a volleyball for players who are registered by June 10. The cost is $50. High School camp is 10 a.m.-11 a.m., and $20 per session or $60 for all four sessions. The schedule is Monday – Setters camp, Tuesday – Defensive camp, Wednesday – Hitters camp and Thursday – Team drills. Each camper should bring the appropriate gym shoes and related equipment. Festival Of The Lakes Offers Carnival Mega Pass Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., Hammond Parks & Recreation and Modern Midways are pleased to announce the return of the carnival Mega Pass for use at the 13th Annual Festival of the Lakes. The Mega Pass is on sale now for $50 each, at the Hammond Civic Center Business Office, 5825 S. Sohl Ave., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Pay via cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Purchasing a Mega Pass allows unlimited carnival rides during the Festival of the Lakes, July 20-24 from open until close. Turn in your pass at the Modern Midways office on the Festival grounds at Wolf Lake Memorial Park beginning Wednesday, July 20 at 5 p.m. and you w ill receive a wristband that must be worn for the entirety of the Festival. Once a Mega Pass is purchased, there will be no refunds or exchanges. Mega Passes will be on sale until Tuesday, July 19 at 4 p.m. at the Hammond Civic Center.
