Summer Astronomy Workshops Governors State University is offering three one credit hour astronomy workshops at the Merrillville Community Planetarium, Pierce Middle School, 199 East 70th Avenue, Merrillville, Indiana. Current GSU tuition and fees for one credit hour per course. Each workshop meets for two Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are: Stars and Nebulas (ASTR 5361-01) on June 8 & 15; History of Space Exploration (ASTR 5149-01) on June 22 & 29; and Charting the Night Sky (ASTR 5201-02) on July 27 & August 3. South Suburban College Men’s Basketball player, sophomore guard Michael Harris (East Chicago Central HS) was named NJCAA Division II NATIONAL Player-of-theYear. This is the first “National” Player of the Year for Head Men’s Basketball Coach John Pigatti. It is also the first for the South Suburban College Athletic Department in recent history. Harris averaged 23.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.2 assist, and 3.3 steal per game during the 2012-13 season. He played in the NJCAA National All Star Game May 11th, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV. This award puts the cap on all of the accomplishments acquired by Harris this season. He was named Region IV-A Player-of -the Year, Region IV-A Tournament MVP, and NJCAA 1st Team All American. During Harris’ two seasons at South Suburban his teams had a record of 65-9. The 65 wins are the most for any player in the history of the school. This season South Suburban finished 32-5 and placed 6th at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Are some organizations excluded from this law? Answer: The Do Not Call laws were established to provide protections to limit unwanted phone solicitations to a person’s home or cell phone, but be aware there are exceptions. They include calls from organizations with which you have a business relationship; calls for which you have given prior written consent; calls that are not commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements; and calls by or on behalf of taxexempt, nonprofit organizations. Consumers who may not have signed up for the Do Not Call Registry can do so at https:// donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx or by calling (888) 382-1222. Question: Can I obtain a court order of protection against someone who I believe was hired by my ex-husband to spy on me? Answer: The Stalking No Contact Order Act (SNCO) protects those who may not be covered under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. It can be useful in a domestic relations context if an ex-partner uses a third party (such as a friend or relative) to stalk a victim. Under the SNCO, the court can take several actions, such as prohibiting the stalker from threatening to commit stalking, committing stalking, and any contact with the victim and/or protected persons.
