Spring Book Sale Book lovers can browse thousands of adult and youth books, CDs and DVDs at a tri-annual book sale hosted by Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA) May 11 through 14 at Paws Resale Shoppe, 8149 Kennedy Ave., Highland, Ind. A fundraiser for the organization, the sale will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For a $5 donation, shoppers can attend the sneak preview of the sale on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, shoppers can fill a bag with books for just $5 a bag. Donations of gently used adult and youth books, CDs and DVDs are appreciated and can be delivered to Paws Resale Shoppe. Donations are accepted Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shop. Coach Pigatti is in his 10th year as head coach of the SSC Bulldogs and has accumulated a tremendous career coaching record of 291-62. He has won 7 Reg ion I V Championships, his teams have been to seven NJCA A Division II National Championships in ten years and have also been ranked #1 in the country. The Bulldogs have also been ranked in the top ten every season since Pigatti has been at South Suburban College. Coach Pigatti has been named the 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2009, 2008, and 2007 Coach-of-the Year in Region IV, District 4, and by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. More importantly, all of the sophomores he recruited have signed a scholarship to play at a 4-year college or university. Congratulations to Coach Pigatti and the 2015-2016 Bulldogs who finished 34-3 and placed 3rd at the NJCAA National Tournament. It’s been an outstanding, exciting, successful season!
