Towle Youth Theater Ensemble announces auditions for the World Premiere of MENTAL. Auditions are Friday, February 5 at 6pm and Saturday, February 6 at 1pm. Please call 219-937-8780 and advise the Towle as to the day you are auditioning. Auditions will take place at the Towle Theater; 5205 Hohman Avenue, Hammond IN. Please prepare a oneminute memorized dramatic monologue. You may be asked to read from the script. Keep in mind, auditioning is similar to interviewing for a job. Please dress nicely, arrive well rested and 15 minutes prior to the audition time. MENTAL follows Joanna and her demon X over the ten years of their time together. X, the human embodiment of Depression and Anxiety, tortures Jo for years before her attempted suicide. Landed in the Lakeside Mental Hospital, Jo meets Warren and the two try to heal themselves and each other. Students from all over NW Indiana and Southern suburbs of Chicago are strongly encouraged to audition. Those who audition and don’t make the cast or anyone interested in of f-stage/back-stage involvement w ill work on sma ll committees for the show including box office, tech and PR/ marketing. Since 2010, the Towle Youth Theater Ensemble, or TYTE, has been wowing NWI audiences with productions such as the Northwest Indiana Premiere of Jason Robert Brown’s 13, Anne of Green Gables, Laughing Stock & Clue the Musical. The next TYTE production will be the World Premiere of Mental by Towle Youth Theater Ensemble Member, Isabel Zuniga and under the direction of Dan Brennan.
