Our 143-acre waterfront campus provides spectacular views of the Mount Hope Bay in Bristol, Rhode Island, where you experience all four seasons. All full-time undergraduate students will attend classes in Bristol. With a second urban campus in the capital city of Providence, RWU locations serve as strategic launchpads where you learn, live, and immerse yourself in the area’s boundless cultural offerings and natural beauty.

URBAN ACCESS
The main Bristol campus is less than 20 minutes from Newport, 30 minutes from Providence, an hour from Boston, and around 3-1/2 hours from New York City.
Direct flights are available to and from Providence’s T.F. Green International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport. Direct bus lines that run to Newport and Providence stop right in front of the campus.

Jayson Dixon, from Jackson, N.J., developed his powerful combination with a sense of purpose. Dixon double majored in Legal Studies and Philosophy with a minor in Physics. At RWU, Dixon joined the Real Estate Club, the Multicultural Student Union, the Hispanic and Latinx Student Association, and the Barbershop Club, and worked as a tutor, peer mentor, and admissions ambassador. These transformative experiences led Dixon to Bangkok where he is serving in the Peace Corps.
After completing his service, Dixon plans to attend Yale Law School, where he has already been accepted.

Jules Gerstner, from Carlisle, Penn., proved that passions to pursue at RWU are limitless. She majored in Biology and Chemistry and minored in Visual Arts. Gerstner was deeply involved in undergraduate research, joined WQRI and the Science Alliance, worked as a tutor, and served as the 2025 Undergraduate Student Commencement Speaker. Gerstner, who is pursuing a doctorate in Chemistry at Yale, credits RWU with inspiring her drive to explore.

RWU hosts several celebrated traditions yearly, including an annual Surf and Turf Dinner in April. The Intercultural Center facilitates transformative and community-building experiences that celebrate the diversity of our student body. We offer programing and support to foster a sense of belonging and enhance awareness of the rich cultural identities and strengths across the RWU community.
QUEER AND TRANS RESOURCE AND ADVOCACY CENTER (QTRAC)
As an extension of the IC, the QTRAC is the central hub for queer-centric student & employee enrichment and advocacy. QTRAC partners with RWU offices to help ensure that all students encounter as few barriers to full and authentic participation as possible.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AND SCHOLAR SERVICES (ISSS)
ISSS supports students studying in the United States under an F-1 or J-1 visa. In addition, these services are open to students with U.S. citizenship who self-identify as international. ISSS supports undergraduate, graduate, and law students at RWU.
SPIRITUAL LIFE
For those from a specific faith tradition, RWU encourages multi-faith learning and dialogues, service experiences, community building, and justice-seeking within campus life and beyond.

FIRST-GENERATION STUDENT SUPPORT
RWU’s S.O.A.R. (Strive, Overcome, Achieve, Rise) program is for first-year students who are the first in their families to go to college. Students will be mentored by faculty and will join a large community of students who will support and learn from each other. With first-generation specialized career advising through the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD), RWU is committed to serving, supporting, and meeting students where they are.
STATE-OF-THE-ART SPACES
E.L. WIEGAND CENTER FOR ADVANCED FINANCIAL EDUCATION
A trading room equipped with the latest software, large-screen TVs tuned to breaking financial news, Bloomberg technology, and an 8-foot, real-time stock ticker connected to global financial markets. Finance majors manage four real-dollar portfolios and gain hands-on training that prepares them to work as financial analysts on Wall Street and other major financial centers across the globe.
LEARNING PLATFORM
Our learning platform extends 200 feet into the bay, providing students with direct access to the bay for water sampling and biological collecting. An upweller system for oysters and other bivalves is maintained directly on our learning platform and used for research in our shellfish program. Our research vessel, the InVinceble Spirit, launches from the platform for coursework, water quality testing, and collecting aquatic organisms.
MARINE BIOLOGY WET LAB
A 3,000-square-foot research space with floor-to-ceiling tanks houses vibrant fire shrimp, schools of clownfish, and local coral as part of student research. Students record data and maintain the tanks and filtration systems, which are supplied with seawater directly from the campus shoreline of Mount Hope Bay.
CUMMINGS SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE STUDIO SPACE
Each of our 375 Architecture workstations in our Samsung Design Studio is outfitted with a 27” Samsung LED monitor where students can access cloud-based software using many devices that foster collaboration and teamwork spaces throughout the entire studio space. Each student will receive an individual studio space to work all four years.
RICHARD L. BREADY APPLIED LEARNING LABORATORIES
The 27,000-square-foot, three-story facility uses the latest industry tools and technology, with plenty of flexible collaboration spaces, project rooms, and study areas. Highlights also include: an Applied Engineering & Fabrication Lab, a Fluid Mechanics Lab, a Computer Science Software Experimentation Lab, an Electrical Engineering Lab, an Advanced Technology and Innovation Studio, a BIM/ Virtual Reality Lab, an Emergent Technologies lab, a Mechanics of Materials Lab, and a two-story Construction Management Methods & Materials Lab where students can build an entire model house.
FUTURE CAMPUS CENTER
Our new Campus Center is designed to be at the heart of student life. With stunning views of the bay, it will serve as a gathering place for students to meet, host events, and organize programs, accommodating over 80 clubs and orgs. The center will also function as a one-stop resource hub for student needs, featuring a school store, dining options, esports gaming, live music, and various open meeting spaces. Additionally, the RWU Life Design Center will assist students in navigating their educational journeys, career paths, and health and wellness, while also helping them develop important life skills outside the classroom. Groundbreaking for the new center is scheduled for the summer of 2026.

Jenifer Gomez, from Providence, R.I., graduated with a double major in Construction Management and Spanish, plus a minor in Business. Through RWU’s Shawmut Scholars Program, Gomez gained real-world experience and connections working with leading industry professionals, along with a full-tuition scholarship. From working on a major commercial build to shadowing project managers, she graduated prepared for career success and now works for Shawmut Design and Construction as a Construction Management Skills Trainee.

Elizabeth Dufrane ’25
Business Management (major) + Military Science (minor) + MBA candidate
A student-athlete, Army ROTC cadet, and transfer student, Elizabeth Dufrane, from Falls Church, Va., found purpose and community at RWU. After attending two other colleges, she knew RWU was the right fit thanks to faculty and staff support and numerous academic, athletic and leadership opportunities. As a leader on and off the basketball court while pursuing a Business Management major and Military Science minor, and now starting the MBA 4+1 program, “RWU helped me become my best self.”

This is a more realistic idea versus the “sticker price,” as nearly all RWU students qualify for some type of funding and that funding is guaranteed for all four years.

T All accepted students are automatically considered for our merit scholarships and grants of at least $17,000 per year.
T Students who earn a 3 .6 GPA or higher are awarded the Academic Excellence Grant of a $1,000 renewable award applied to each year of qualifying performance that can result in up to $6,000 in additional grant aid during a four-year program.
T Qualifying students may earn our Intercultural Leadership Ambassador (ILA) Scholarship, which covers 95% of tuition.
T Students can secure a student job and/or internships from nearly 1,300 opportunities.
