We honor and celebrate the extraordinary life and legacy of Sandy Haines, CTP, a cherished member of our tourism family whose dedication, passion and radiant spirit left an indelible mark on Myrtle Beach and the group travel industry. Sandy passed peacefully in June, closing a remarkable chapter of service that spanned nearly 34 years with Visit Myrtle Beach.
As Director of Group Tour Sales, Sandy was a pioneering force in the motorcoach and group travel sector. Her tireless efforts and deep industry knowledge helped forge lasting partnerships

with tour operators, event planners and businesses throughout the Grand Strand. Her work elevated Myrtle Beach as a premier group travel destination and brought unforgettable experiences to countless visitors. In recognition of her impact, Sandy was honored with numerous accolades, including the 2024 Spirit of TAP Award from Travel Alliance Partners.
To many, Sandy was far more than a colleague. She was a treasured friend, a trusted mentor and a vibrant soul who lit up every room. Her charismatic presence, genuine warmth and quick wit brought joy and laughter to every encounter.

There are so many reasons a trip to The Beach is a great choice for your next group outing. But don’t take it from us … check out why other tour and travel planners say why Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was a great experience for them.
“I want to thank the Visit Myrtle Beach team so much for a great last minute FAM! It was so organized and packed with useful information for planning great tours to Myrtle Beach. It makes such a di erence to see places in person and meet the contact person at each place. Plus, our car rides were fun to toss around ideas. I am so excited to start planning. I plan to do a fall tour this year and a spring, fall or holiday tour in the coming year!”
“As a tour operator specializing in student group tours, I find that Myrtle Beach is one of the best destinations available for students. A trip to Myrtle Beach is not the typical trip. Most students have described it as ‘laid back’ or ‘relaxing.’ While on other trips to major amusement parks or a major city, the students, while enjoying the experience, are always exhausted at the trip’s end. If you take the time to do your homework, you will find Myrtle Beach is well worth the e ort.”
“The entire experience was flawless, and it was so enjoyable to be able to be in a beautiful place with endless entertainment. The trip allowed me to make some connections and friendships that I will certainly use moving forward. I can’t wait to have a group come experience Myrtle Beach and show them all the wonderful things the area has to o er.”
“Myrtle Beach continues to be an excellent destination for our tours, combining the best of accommodations, meals and attractions along with fantastic customer service!”
