Cromar Future Group’s talented youngsters from Everything Electronics Youth Club have been on winning form again, this time at the Youth Climate Film Awards.

Run jointly by Keep Scotland Beautiful and Screen Scotland, six of the 21 films entered were awarded commendations and prizes and both of the two CFG entries were in the awards.

“Time for Change” was commended for “outstanding animation and music”. It was a joint effort between Jacob Day from Alford (animation) and Thorfinn Sigurhansson from Torphins (both 14) for the sound track and music.

“Save the Mussels” was a mixture of filming and puppetry made during lockdown by Harvey Pole (11) from Torphins with his little sister Millie (8). It was commended for “gentle humour and animated spirit”.

And do you remember their lovely little Viking that we featured on the last magazine? That game is finished now and features fishing for fish, chopping wood, fighting off dragons and krackens to reach an island and defeat a Demon King in a five level maze game! To play it go to Scratch and search on EEcoders, Viking Quest.
