One year aft er the specialist bike retailer Aberdeenshire Bicycle Works fi rst opened their doors in Aboyne, it has rebranded as Firetrail, and expanded with an ambiti ous new online business catering to bikepacking, gravel and enduro mountain bike cyclists.
Husband and wife team, Richard and Alex Lawes, Firetrail’s development further cements Aberdeenshire’s reputati on as a leading cycling desti nati on and off ers vital cycling supplies and repair services. The bike shop is located in an ancient coach house within Aboyne Castle grounds, but Firetrail also off er click and collect and UKwide postal delivery via their brand-new online pla� orm.

This summer has seen Firetrail become the regional hub for bikepacking and adventure cycling. The team has been 14busy advising cyclists on which bike, camping equipment and bikepacking luggage to choose, helping them to get ready for journeys big and small. The shop’s locati on at the gateway to the Cairngorms Nati onal Park makes it the perfect launch pad for adventure cycling and world class enduro trails alike.
Alongside its retail and workshop off erings, Firetrail provides a purposebuilt training facility that off ers courses in bike maintenance, fi rst aid and navigati on. Firetrail also off ers female-only bike maintenance courses, delivered by a highly qualifi ed female mechanic and tutor.
