Airport Developing New Master Plan

BY MELANIE BUCK A new ‘master plan’ is in the works at Mena Intermountain Municipal Airport. The airport has become a hub for the county, bringing in visitors from around the country, to this small neck of the woods. Bearcats to Host 4A State Semifinals

A first in Bearcat history, Mena will host the 4A State Semifinals this Friday, December 5. Kick-off is at 7 p.m as the Bearcats seek to skin the Malvern Leopards for an opportunity to play and return with the State Championship title, which is to be played on December 13th at noon in War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. BY MICHAEL DOUGHERTY | COUNTY LINES Unpaved roads play an important role in Polk County. Making up about 1,000 of the county’s 1,300 miles of road, they are essential to transportation. They also provide the path to a number of recreational sites for residents and thousands of visitors who come to the western Arkansas county for recreation.
