NNUAL REPORT With the help of my Public Health Officer, we are currently collaborating with MGLA on an mQUIT programme. They supply us the funds and we execute the program. Training will be given by MGLA prior the execution of the mQUIT programs.

Currently, all national events are either proposed or hosted by local societies and MyPSA EXCOS. If you are neither, and you have a good idea, you have no channel to execute it. With the help of the SecGen and PEO, we created a channel for all members to hand in their proposals and select one or 2 out of them per year, to be carried out by the designated person.

With the help of the whole treasurer team, we have concluded that we do not have enough funds to actually fund additional things besides those that we are to execute compulsory. To reduce our annual expenses, I proposed to size down all of our events into a list and it will be passed down to the next tenure to have a look at it.

I’m always aware with the work that was going on between the host and the EXCOs that are in charge for the national events. I joined few online meetings that was held between the host and the executive officers (PEO and PDO) in order to know the update plus to provide any solution for their problems. Not only that I always meet and talk to all the organizing committee representatives during the general meetings. This gave me an opportunity to know the organising committee very well in person. I successfully attended 3 national events which are NPSC 2018 held in IIUM Kuantan, NCPC 2018 held in SEGI University, NPQ&PA 2018 held in UKM and NPDC 2018 in MAHSA. My involvement as Vice President 1 with all the host of the national events really allowed me to achieve this manifesto which is to ensure the better line of communication between host and MyPSA.

I conducted few EXCO Skype Meetings within the executive officers to get updates on each of their works. This initiative really help us, the EXCOs to know the current situation like events and issues going on in MyPSA. I managed to conduct four Skype meetings which was on 10th March, 27th April, 8th June and 31st July 2018.

All three national events are under PDO’s portfolio. The standardization of mechanism is a great initiative to provide a fair platform and create transparency for all the participants. Not only that the standardised mechanism gives a clear picture of the event flow and also decrease the burden for the host to come up with a proper mechanism for the event.

Manifesto Progress and Achievement 1. Creating a Continuous KPI Evaluation System
D
uring the first run on the KPI Evaluation System with the current Executive Board, I had discussed with Bryan with regards to the system. Both of us agreed that while the Evaluation system was comprehensive and gave a more accurate description of the performances, each Form to be filled took a significant amount of time to complete and required immense concentration and personal working experience with the Executive Officers under evaluation. Thus, I was tasked with the job of simplifying the system in order to make it easier for the Executive Officers to evaluate without much difficulty. In addition, the marking system was modified into three evaluation blocks, where the members of each block would evaluate each other’s performances. This method differed from the previous method as it ensured that the evaluating Officers would

Hence, a significant portion of my work has been dedicated to the restructuring and remodelling of the Constitution to form the Official Documents, which will be discussed below in next section. While it is my regret that I have not been able to release the Meeting Minutes to the Members itself, a consolation lies in the fact that if Members do want to understand the events that happen in the Meetings, they may do so by either referring to their Mainboards and asking for the Meeting Minutes from them.

The main goal behind releasing the Constitution and the Meeting Minutes was to increase transparency of the Association to the Members. During my scrutiny of the Constitution, I was convinced that there was a need to remodel the Constitution for the following issues:

Conducting a Local Leaders in Training for the Members I had mentioned in my manifesto that building up a pool of students who would be useful to the Local Societies and Executive Officers would be done; this idea was culminated in the idea of Metamorphosis, which coincidentally had been part of Bryan’s manifesto as well. I was honoured to assist in the event itself and play a role in building the first pioneer batch of students leaders.

In truth, the mandating of Annual Reports has been an Article of the MyPSA Constitution for many years, and the goal of this submission is to allow the Executive Officers to understand the individual directions of the Local Societies as well as their current goals. However, in the event that this goal is no longer achieved through the submission of reports, alternative methods will need to be explored.

Implement online MyPSA membership status checking system An online membership database has been incorporated into MyPSA official website using a data entry plugin on a WordPress platform. CSV file containing membership database is then uploaded to MyPSA official website and specific membership details can be retrieved using the data entry plugin via a shortcode widget by typing in name or I.C. number of the member, thus, any registered MyPSA member can now check their respective membership number and membership expiry date using this online system.

I conducted the tour in UKM and tours in CUCMS, Monash and Taylor’s were done by Reena, Jian Rong and Taylor’s CP respectively. Besides that, I did ask the CPs for request to do campus promotional tour and currently there are four confirmed requested tours which will be carried out by my sub-committees, these include IMU(28/9), AIMST(12/9), UKM(12/9) and SEGi(19/9).
Invitation of new local society University of Reading Malaysia (Reading Malaysia Pharmacy Society) is invited to join MyPSA and registration form is well received. Currently Reading Malaysia Pharmacy Society is fulfilling the 3 out of 4 consecutive meeting attendances in order to become official MyPSA member. Besides that, Quest International University Perak (QIUP Pharmacy Students' Society) has fulfilled the 3 out of 4 consecutive meetings requirement, thus, QIUP Pharmacy Students' Society will be announced as MyPSA official member in the upcoming MyPSA AGM 2018.

When face-to-face meeting is not feasible, an online Skype meeting will be conducted at least once a month to monitor the progression of the event preparation. WhatsApp group was actively used as the platform to discuss any issues of the events with the organising committees. To improve the monitoring of the event progression, a good rapport is built with the high committees of the events.

NNUAL REPORT The main goal is to allow the Pharmacy students to be able to use MyPSA as a platform to propose and execute national-scale events that may benefit them and other students

The concept is that all universities will take up the responsibility and contribute to the continuity of National Pharmacy Sports Carnival (NPSC) in 2019.

Since previously there is no bidder for the next 12th MyPSA NPSC 2019 despite of all the appropriate actions to secure a host had been taken, a Plan B for NPSC 2019 had been prepared and proposed in order to ensure continuity of the event.
Each university will require to organise at least one sport event (modern games like badminton, basketball, futsal and etc.) The organising committees of respective university should comprises a chairperson, secretary, treasurer, sport team, registration team, food & beverage team, accommodation and transportation team. This team of organising committees will be termed as Sub-team. All the sub-team will be coordinated under a Headquater (HQ) Team which comprises project director, general secretary, general treasurer, sponsorship team and publication & multimedia team. Before this Plan B being proposed to MyPSA Mainboards, a good news from CUCMS that they will take up the challenge and host the 12th MyPSA NPSC 2019.

Tan Hui Yin| Education Officer It has been successfully held on 23rd February – 25th February 2018 at Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Royal College Of Medicine Perak. The theme of the event was “Transforming Creativity into A Scientific Research Knowledge”. The sponsorship from MyPSA has risen to RM 1000 from RM 500 due to the massive amount of budget with the approval from mainboards. There were 32 participants with a total participation from 7 universities

EDUCATION OFFICER
It is successfully held on 3rd March 2018 on MPS Puchong with collaboration with Personal Development Officer and Entrepreneurship Officer. The slogan is Transcend Your Limits. Mr Chong Chin Pin, Mr Yong Wei Shian and Mr John Yeo Keh Hau were presenting on Clinical Skill, Entrepreneurship skill and Personal Development Skill respectively. There were 22 participants and the overall comment is good. However, the depth of the content should be revised in order to suit Year 3 and Year 4 students.
It is another source to continue the aims of PharmaStudio to share information. It will be shared twice a month on MyPSA Facebook page. The information is gained from KKM official page.

Carrying out a nationwide online campaign to increase public motivation (targeting students first) in adopting a healthier lifestyle, particularly by emphasizing on sleep quality, balanced diet, physical activity and mental health.

The scope is focused on healthy lifestyle by encouraging the public to spend 30 minutes a day in doing activities beneficial for health. The campaign is named as “Invest 30 Challenge”.

1. Initiate the mandatory incorporation of either Pharmacy Profession Awareness Campaign, Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Campaign or Blood Donation campaign within the Public Health Campaign 2018 organized by local pharmacy societies. The 3 elements/campaigns mentioned are important to increase the public awareness on the roles of pharmacists and the issue of antimicrobial resistance as well as increase the participation rate of public and students in donating blood to save life. 2. Work together with President of MyPSA to discuss and establish the collaboration with Malaysia Green Lung Association (MGLA) for the coming 1 year. Discuss and establish the mechanism of collaboration whereby the local pharmacy societies may gain the benefit in terms of knowledge sharing and monetary support when conducting smoking cessation activities in the coming 1 year.

More emphasis on certain topics were also given when in conjunction with certain health days such as World Diabetes Day, World AIDS/HIV Day, World Tuberculosis Day, World Malaria Day, World Immunization Week, World Hepatitis Day, etc.

Programme was initiated in 2017, as a continuous effort of the previous networking officer and her executive assistants with the objective of establishing professional partnership and generate additional income with renowned pharmaceutical companies and health-based non-governmental organization. Modifications on mechanismis were made, are the programme was reinforced with a pitch deck prior to its official commencement. A partnership prospectus (revamped with corporate-style design), a draft on partnership tier and standard operating procedures have been proofread and compiled by the end of 2018. The programme, was unfortunately, aborted in early March upon consulting Datin Mariani Ahmad Nizaruddin (the national advisor of MyPSA) and Mr. Seah Chung-yi (president of MyPSA). Rationale behind the abortion is as follows: o MyPSA was initially registered with the Registry of Society. o The status was expired but the executive committee was unaware. o As MyPSA now exist as a student chapter instead of an independent society/ organization, any initiative involving official partnership needs to go through the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society. o That defeats the purpose of MyPSA wanting to become financially independent, hence, the programme was called off.

NNUAL REPORT Manifesto 2: Create our own merchandise on SEP Malaysia
To gain funds by selling it to MyPSA members and to the public To give to the Exchange Students that will be doing SEP in Malaysia as souvenir
Due to some problems arise, the merchandises were changed with only cap, drawstring bag, lanyard, totebag, t-shirt and tumbler. On June 19th, 2018, the merchandises were officially marketed on all social media platform (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). The mechanism of the merchandise is to collect at least 50 minimum pre-order to proceed with ordering from the vendor. After discussing with MyPSA Treasurer, Ms Sin Yee and my SEP Team, we had decided to give drawstring bags as souvenirs to the incoming students, instead of t-shirt. Drawstring bags are much lower cost than t-shirt. The merchandise did not get much attention, so I decided to do extension. I have decided to only focus on some of the merchandise that have buyers, to get at least 50 minimum orders. The merchandises were focused to only cap, drawstring bag, t-shirt and lanyard. However, after the deadline extension, the orders are quite the same. I came up with a new mechanism, in which I ordered 50 caps, 50 drawstring bags and 50 lanyards using my own money first. After the merchandise were purchased by the buyers, the money for the cost of the merchandise will go into my bank account while the profit will be used to sponsor the souvenirs – 22 drawstring bags, and to support some expenses during SEP such as SEP Trip. While for those that have ordered the t-shirts, the buyer will be given an option, either to get refund, or change to other merchandise.

Brainstorming was done since early of the mandate, where all subcommittees voice out their opinion on the suitable merchandises to sell and to give as souvenirs. The final decision of the merchandises include cap, drawstring bag, lanyard, notebook, totebag, t-shirt and tumbler. Designing was done by Local Student Exchange Officers (LEOs) of Publication Squad. While contacting and ordering the merchandises were done by Local Student Exchange Officers (LEOs) of Lodging Squad.
Due to time constraint, the merchandise finished a little late where 6 out of the 22 exchange students did not get the drawstring bags. The task now is to finish all of the merchandises – 50 drawstring bags, 50 caps and 50 lanyards

Hence, the total for field of work during SEP in Malaysia is 3, research, community and hospital.

whole new thing – MyPSA member handbook had been successfully completed by me and my team. I am glad that this handbook had received good feedback from many EXCOs as it can let the new members of MyPSA as well as the pharmacy students from oversea know more about MyPSA. However, I hope this handbook can be printed in hardcopy form so that it can be distributed and benefit the target readers as mentioned above if financial status permits. There were a total of 3 MyPSA Newsletter were published during this tenure which are March, June and October issue. March and June issue consist of report of MyPSA annual event, educational article written by the pharmacy students, public health campaign carried out during this tenure and so on. However, October issue is more on the annual report of the EXCOs. It was truly a pleasure to work for MyPSA and I enjoyed it although it was tough sometimes. I not only felt passionate about my job but I put passion into it. Thank you MyPSA for being part of my life!

Events Conducted The forensic exam workshop was conducted to help students from various universities to enhance their answering skills of the forensic exam. This was mainly conducted due to the high failure rate of the forensic exam whereby negative marking was initiated. Pass year questions were discussed during this workshop. Students feed backed that the workshop was useful and food provided were appropriated. Besides, every participant was given a self-designed key chair as souvenir.

with the theme “Turning Challenges Into Opportunities� had been organised to inform pharmacy students and recent graduates about the information pertinent to PRP trainings and its potential challenges, it also aimed to capacitate participants with network and contacts which will essentially develop their career pathway.

MyPSA had been given tasks on posters and videos preparation, two main focussed topics which were Medicine Package Labelling and Complete Prescription. Initially, posters were designed by Advocacy Officer, then followed by Multimedia Officer for posters refinement. Advocacy Officer worked together with Education Officer throughout the World Pharmacist Day preparation. Details on the activities and content for booth viewing on event day are yet to be discussed with Datin and MPS.
This project aimed to broaden the views and perspectives of participants, and informed them about the working situation in their coming PRP trainings. Also, we aimed to rendezvous and provided networking opportunities to the renowned leaders and participants. Hence, we can conclude that the manifesto was successfully achieved by organising this forum.

Compounding Thoughts, Dispensing Ideas
T
he Competency Cup, Piala Aishah 2018 was held on 21st April 2018 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz Campus with the theme: “Compounding Thoughts, Dispensing Ideas”. 11 universities consisting of 19 teams with 38 participants were part of this prestigious competition. The event began with welcoming ceremony around 9 a.m. that started with welcoming speech from the Project Director, Ms. Hafizah binti Mahmood Ali. Then, the participants were brought to the Formulation Lab where they were briefed about the rules & regulation and the Competency Cup mechanism before the round started. Each team were given 45 minutes to plan, organize and prepare the product in response to task given and also to answer the product related questions on the answer sheet provided. A prescription of Calamine Lotion (80 ml) was presented to challenge the compounding skills of the participants. Since there were two participants in a team, both participants divided their time productively in order to compound the required preparation as well as answer the questions based on the preparation. The questions included the ingredients used and their functions in ensuring the stability and efficiency of the product. In addition to that, the participants’ ability to interpret the methodology of preparation on paper with much precision in calculation and terminologies used is also examined. The participants had to master basic pharmaceutical technology and its principles in depth in order to answer these questions.

NNUAL EVENT There were four judges involved in this competition, namely, Dr. Muhammad Salahuddin bin Haris @ Harith from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Associate Prof. Dr. Zainol Akbar Zainal from Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS), Dr. Fazren Azmi and Associate Prof. Dr. Haliza Katas from The National University of Malaysia (UKM). The champion for Competency Cup was awarded with the Aishah Cup together with a token of appreciation from UKM and also certificate of achievement. We hope that this completion gave a chance to the students to test on their knowledge and skills related to pharmaceutics. A good teamwork is essential especially while working in pairs to prepare the extemporaneous preparation and we hope that it is an aspiration that this annual event will be able to increase the level of quality and competency amongst future pharmacists. On the whole, this event can surely contribute to an improved and better pharmacy profession development in Malaysia.

n this modern era, young adults not only need to gain knowledge for their future, but also need to gain some experience in real life. Especially in clinical pharmacy, students need to have sufficient knowledge on pharmacotherapy and respective application on the patients. Although this can be tested via exam, yet there is still a need for students to gain experience on it.
With this intention, SEGi Pharmacy Students Association (SPSA) organized the 4th National Clinical Pharmacy Competition (NCPC) on 6th to 8th April 2018. Generally, NCPC is an annual event under Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA) involving students from 19 pharmacy schools around Malaysia. This competition is an opportunity that should not be missed by the pharmacy students to gain insight and able to have lasting relations with their peers as well as enhancing communication and soft skills. But not just that, NCPC also encourage collaboration, leadership and self-confidence among participants.

NNUAL EVENT In this NCPC competition, there were preliminary rounds (MCQ), opening round (OSCE), semi-final round (SAQ) and grand final round (case presentation). All topics in this competition were taken from all the universities to prevent biasness. During the competition, all the participants showed their knowledge gained throughout their 4 years of Bachelor of Pharmacy course. The competition ran smoothly with all the hard work of committees and corporation of participants. The participants show their enthusiasm and dedication throughout the competition. The participants also demonstrate their capabilities in analyzing the case and question even though they only given a short time. On 8th April 2018, the competition ended successfully with a photography session. As a conclusion, this event acts as a medium for the pharmacy students to enrich their quality of soft skills, especially in clinical pharmacy. We believe that this clinical pharmacy competition is a healthy competition among students to strengthen the ties of the students among all the faculty of pharmacy and empowers students’ clinical pharmacy knowledge as well as systemic approach on clinical problem-solving.

INT TAIWAN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIR & LEADERSHIP TRAINING (IALTC)

International Affairs & Leadership Training Camp, also called IALTC as its abbreviation. This camp is a three-day event hosted by PSA-Taiwan from 8th July to 10th July. The aim of the event is to let pharmacy students more aware of the international affairs among IPSF and APRO region and meanwhile strengthen their soft, leadership skills to train potential leaders in the near future. There are 41 participants totally involved, 2 delegates from APS-Japan, 3 delegates from KNAPS-Korea, 9 delegates from MyPSA-Malaysia, 3 IPSF SEP students from Poland and France, and also 14 Taiwanese local pharmacy students. This news report would like to present readers the sessions, lectures, and workshops we had during IALTC. Let us lead you to pass through what we experienced these three days! Viva la Pharmacie!

Before attending the camp, I expected that I could learn new things that are not taught in the lecture, like how to engage in the international affairs in pharmacy field, what are the international pharmacy organizations and so on. During the camp, I have learned industrial pharmacy practice, the general details of international affairs and organizations of pharmacy, and the events held and the ways to participate. This camp broadens my horizon and increases my knowledge on pharmacy practice and international affairs. I could easily engage in the events that I would like to take part in.

Well, before we all go to Taiwan, I was expecting something deeper about pharmacy as I don’t really exposed to pharmacy project even in Malaysia. I was also expecting new bpharm friends from all around the world as we can build some connection and work together the future. I also expect to have more exposure about leadership as it is leadership camp. When we were there, there are lots of new things we had gained. I am more exposed to international programme which I never thought is existed. There are so many international programme that actually we can join to improve our skill, sharing ideas and make lots of friend. I only knew that bpharm programme not necessary for 4 years. Well, I thought it only will take for 4 years. From my perspective, I think we can involve more in international event. Well we can actively involve in those programme rather than only being a nerdy pharmacist for our lifetime.

NUR FATIN SYAHIRAH BINTI CHE RADZI, UNIKL RCMP, 2nd Year Before going to the International Affair and Leadership Training Camp, I expected the camp to be a quite serious and tense programme just like most camps that i have been attended before. On the other hand, i also expected to gain more knowledge about leadership and able to express myself more during the camp besides elevating my confidence level. During the camp, it is very fun and enjoyful as the facilitators were very lenient and sporting. They always try their best to fulfill participants’ requirement throughout the camp. The speakers that has been assigned during the symposium also has alot of experiences and knowledge that we were very happy to meet them and learn things. So, as ive attended the camp, i think that the skill to talk infront of people that have been taught at the camp can be applied in the society as to increase the soft skills of pharmacy students.

TERNATIONAL HENG XI WEN, CUCMS, 1st Year Originally, I expected that It’ll be a knowledgeable and fun trip before I went there but it turns out that the camp actually exceeded my expectations as they organize trips to the industry, talks about international affairs and also the importance of working together if you are a leader of a team. I think that the skills and new perspective that I’ve had in Taiwan enables me to contribute to the pharmacy association as a member by leading a group of youths to work out similar events to build up future leaders and increase networking chances for all pharmacy students in the association. Not only that, I can share these knowledge and skills to others so that Malaysia will have more future leaders that help improve Malaysia into a modern and futuristic country in the near future.

NUR HUSNA IFFAH BT SUHAIDI, UNIKL RCMP, 2nd Year I would like to express my gratitude for giving me the chance to join the International Affairs and Leadership Training Camp (IALTC) through Malaysian Pharmacy Student Association (MyPSA). When I first find out about this program, I was curious about how well this program had taken place before and looked forward to be aware of other pharmacy society in other countries too. Thus, we can make a wide range of connection between us. Positive feedbacks were blooming about this program. Ever since that, a keen interest towards this program has been budding inside me as this was my first-time experience to be involve in this kind of programme. Besides that, this program helped me to have a global link with the people all around the world because we shared our thoughts and opinions about the pharmacy system of each country. Their pharmacy practices are different in terms of technology, counselling, services, treatment and many more but the most important aspect that attract me is their professionalism. Their professionalism has set my bar to the maximum as I really want to grow and increasing my maturity bit by bit. In addition, I was also exposed to the difference between IPSF, WHA and WHO and got the details how we can actually participate in these organizations and related events. Of course, I should be saying that the time we had to learn all necessary things regarding the international relations and leadership skills was not enough but I would be applying all of the things that I learnt from this program to the fullest in real life. As what I have stated before, there are lot of pros and cons from each country so it depends on us to figure out the best way to practice the pros and to overcome and avoid the cons. Lastly, this is truly an open door for me to enrich my skills as a pharmacist to be for the future that lies ahead.

TERNATIONAL LING JIA YEE, UKM, 1st Year Before I went to this camp, I expect that I will get to know many friends who are from different countries and study in the same course with me which is Pharmacy. Besides, I expected that I will see different leadership skills from students from other countries. However, what I had learned from IALTC is more than everything that expected. I get to know many different international affairs that are responsible to improve the nation's health and fight for pharmacists' right. I knew that some of them do help Malaysia in fighting for dispensing rights too. From here, I saw how pharmacists from different countries show their leadership skills and unite to improve this profession. I think that the leadership skills showed by them have inspired me to be brave and be confident to speak in front of people for example in every pharmacy activities which held by my university and also MyPSA. I will challenge myself by holding more higher committee positions in different associations and get experiences from those activities. I know that these will help me a lot in my future life as a pharmacist.

INT NURUL EHFFA BT ABDUL RAUF, UNIKL RCMP, 2nd Year At first, I was expecting that the camp was going to be hard because of our languange barier and afraid of the camp was gonna challenging. My assumption was wrong as the camp was very entertaining. The facilitator had successfully turn the activities into something that very enjoyable for us but in the same time educational and they were also very fluent in English. Every activities that had been done have their own specific goals that help us to learn more on how to be leader and i like it very much. We were also welcomed like a long lost son by all the facilitator when we arrived. I never thought i'd fit into such a new environment so quickly. After 3 great days, we came back to Malaysia. Certainly i will apply all my knowledge that i had learnt from the camp in my daily life as a future pharmacist. For instance, the interpersonal and communication skills can help me in not only improve myself but also to become not only just a normal pharmacist but an all rounded one. As i also learnt on how to manage and keep a good teamwork in a team, i can definitely use this skill to become a better leader in the future. To conclude, it was a very good and meaningful leadership camp. I hope i can participate more in the future.

TERNATIONAL JANNATUL NAIMAH SOLEHAH BINTI SHAFEI, UNIKL RCMP, 2nd Year Last July, I have been given the chance to participate an International Affairs Leadership Training Camp in Taiwan. My expectation for this camp was to be able to learn important soft skills and technique to become a better leader as a future pharmacist. I felt very grateful to be able to join this camp as I have learn more than what I expected. I have been exposed about how to participate international events, international association and pharmacy education throughout the world. This camp helps me to become more confident to involve in international event on future and increase the eagerness to increase my soft skills and knowledge as a pharmacy student from time to time.

TERNATIONAL Tell us how do you get to know IPSF and what is your motivation to be in IPSF/IPSF APRO team? I know mostly about IPSF from my friend, Hilmi Hanapi, which is also the immediate past VP2 of MyPSA. I joined the Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium 2016, South Korea under his suggestion. In APPS 2016 Regional Assembly, my eyes are somehow opened when i saw people from different countries sitting on the same desk, managing an organization together (RWGs). When i searched more, they even traveled for meetings together and they are really close to each other. From that moment onward, i was determined to take the same step as them in the future and now, i did. My journey with IPSF started with the online Clinical Skills Event in May 2017 that was shared on the MyPSA Facebook Page. Soon after that, I noticed the Facebook post about the Leaders in Training and Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium in Bangkok 2017 Thailand. At that moment, I decided to take the initiative to take part in the Leaders in Training program despite my exams on the following week. I have to say that the experience was amazing and I get to know people from other countries such as Taiwan and Indonesia.
I actually got to know about IPSF overseas when I was in England. I came back and immediately signed up for the events since back then it was in right next door (Bangkok). I was very lucky to have been given the chance to represent our country internationally, thank you MyPSA. After joining 2 IPSF conferences and 2 training programmes. The experience has inspired me to learn more and contribute to the federation.

Please name one of the many challenges you faced while being in the position and how do you overcome it? Time management; I dont have a good time management skills. I always prioritize things that I love first before any other things. Now, I am suffering the consequences which I had to work extensively to correct the wrongs.
One of the major challenges that I faced is that some of the the Contact Persons are unresponsive or they do not submit their work on time. To overcome this, I approach those Contact Persons personally and constantly remind them to meet their deadlines. Although I have to work harder for this, I believe that this initiative would help to bond closer with the Contact Persons and make it easier for me to work with the Contact Persons. Of course, this didn't solve the deadline issue, but at least all the Contact Persons submit their work in the end, which is still a good thing. Well I am like a panda, I love my sleep so this is my biggest worry. Being in the IPSF Team, you most likely will work cross-country. Often times it could be cross-region as well. To make up for the meeting times and schedules that fit everyone, sometimes, we need to attend meetings in weird hours like 2AM or 3AM. Coffee (with a shot of chocolate) is my best friend haha!

TERNATIONAL Any encouragement words to MyPSA members who interested to be in IPSF team in future?
Many say that they can’t do it because they are busy. Let me say this to you. I am having my RWG mandate in the middle of a PRP training, which is thought to be one of most busiest moments in the life of a pharmacists. I am in the middle of the busiest moments of my life and i still took the step to involve, aiming to achieve what i want. So, why can't you? Many say that they do not have the necessary skills especially to compete among international students. How do you know, you are not skilled? You won’t know if you havent tried right? So, try. If you have tried before, and you failed. Dont be disheartened, there is probably a slightly better person than you who applied as well. Dont feel down and try again. Society like MyPSA and IPSF are places to grow yourself. Sometimes, things that you discover in these organizations cannot be found in your studies or even your working life. So, join us now. To all MyPSA members, if you're interested to be in the IPSF team in the future, just go for it! Trust me: it would be a great experience as you get to work at an international level and would get the opportunity to explore the cultures of other countries. This will definitely develop you in various aspects, especially in terms of your confidence and communication skills. Do take note that you have nothing to lose. In fact, each experience would be a gain for you. Most importantly, you must always believe in yourself, believe that you're capable of achieving things. With that, I wish you all the best in everything!
I think MyPSA has a really large pool of hidden gems… We Malaysians can be a tad bit shy. Depending on your focus and what kind of skills you want to develop, you can apply to different positions in MyPSA or IPSF Team. Dreams will remain dreams until you take action. PUBLIC HEAL PHC HIV and AIDS Awareness
T
he main concept of this program is to increase public awareness on HIV and AIDS mainly Awareness on Prevention and Treatment of the disease. Participation in public awareness on HIV and AIDS can empower the young people to make responsible decisions about their sexual health so that they can be vigilant about HIV infection. Many young people have minimal knowledge on the differences between HIV and AIDS, thus KPJPSG has willingly decided to give input and educate the young people on what actually HIV and AIDS is. The activities held on 7th June 2018, Thursday, involved the school students and teachers. A total of 250 students and 10 teachers participated in this event accompanied by 2 lecturers as chaperon for the students taking part in the event. The activities conducted were talk about HIV & AIDS Awareness by KPJUC lecturers, in which presentation material was given to us by MAC with the necessary and up to date information.

LTH CAMPAIGN An interactive presentation was done by the students and lectures to engage the school students, which include question and answer session, short games and many more. After a short break, presentation on antimicrobial resistance was presented by another KPJUC lecturer, titled ‘SUPERBUGS’, which enlightened the students regarding the improper use of microbial resistant drugs as well as prevention in the abuse of this medications. Next was the distribution of pamphlets by MAC staff to the school students and teachers and the information present in the pamphlets were vital for the games which was planned on theme of HIV and AIDS Awareness and Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness. Finally on the last session, which was the games session it gave a sense of practical learning to the students, which used the students physical and mental ability learned from the talks given to solve the challenges that we had created to be solved. Besides, the games were all planned in a “vs” plan which encouraged friendly competition among students. The school students and teachers gained valuable input regarding the theme of HIV and AIDS and were able to differentiate between HIV and AIDS. The students were also been enlightened on the ways of preventing from HIV and AIDS, the dangers of misuse of antibiotics and the current scenario of antibiotic overprescribing. Besides they were also enlighten and taught the use of antibiotics used in combination to avoid excessive use of a single antibiotic. By practical evaluation through games session, the students were able to solve the problem and questions put forward in the games. As a conclusion, the main highlight to increase awareness on HIV and Aids and Antimicrobial Resistance to the school students and teachers of KPJUC was achieved.

PUBLIC HEAL PHC Health Carnival 2018

KM’s Health Carnival 2018 was organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Fakulti Farmasi (PMFFar) in collaboration with Malaysian Pharmacy Student’s Association (MyPSA), Industry and Community Partnership UKM (HEJIM UKM) while Chemical Company of Malaysia (CCM), and Khee San Berhad are the sponsors of this event. Aside from Faculty of Pharmacy, there were other faculties that were involved in this program which are Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Science Health.
UKM’s Health Carnival 2018 targeted the residents of PPR Pinggiran Bukit Jalil who came from all age categories: elderly, adult and children. This health carnival was also beneficial to students of UKM as this provided problem based learning (PBL) experience as an exposure to a real-life situation. The purpose of Health Carnival UKM 2018 was to develop skills such as effective communication, leadership, creative, critical thinking, problem solving, ethics and professionalism, responsible towards environment as well as social and accountability among UKM students.

These events were focusing on providing health and dental check-up, medicine counselling and health exhibition. The health and dental check-up was done by the health professional, the organization members accompanied the public from the registration table to the end of health check-up. This can bring the sense of responsibility towards social and accountability among UKM students by ensuring the public get the best health services during the day.

LTH CAMPAIGN Medicine counselling was done by 15 registered pharmacists, mostly from UKM pharmacy lecturers. On the day of event, UKM pharmacy students were able to see how the professionals performed their duties as pharmacist through effective communication, ethics and professionalism during patients counselling. Health exhibition was done by 34 volunteers representing UKM pharmacy students, and the topics that were chosen for the day of events are Antibiotic Resistance, Pharmacist Role, General Use of Medicine, Asthma, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Obesity and Counterfeit Medicine. The main focus was antibiotic resistance. Health exhibition helps students develop skills such as effective communication leaderships, creative, critical thinking and problem thinking when deliver information to the public.

As conclusion, most of the publics were able to understand most of the exhibition held during the carnival especially Antimicrobial Resistance. Based on the feedback, it can be said that the publics from PPR Pinggiran Bukit Jalil were now aware about resistance towards antibiotics and its importance to finish the antibiotic prescribed to them regardless about the taste or smell of the medicine.

PUBLIC HEAL PHC Vaccination Awareness
P
ublic health campaign is an educational and interactive event designed for an outreach to provide basic information on health and medicine and basic medical screening to the community. It is also a campaign which attempts to promote public health by making new health interventions. This campaign was organized by Pharmacy Students’ Society in collaboration with Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association, Malaysia Pharmaceutical Society, Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun dan Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan Negeri.
This event also provided exposure to our students on new health related issues. There were exhibitions, public quiz, games, coloring contest, lucky draw and health talks. With a target audience of 500 people, we managed to approach school students, UniKL RCMP students and public to spread the awareness of vaccination and its importance. This public health campaign was in collaboration with Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA), Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS) Perak branch, Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun dan Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan Negeri Perak. Apart from that there were student’s club involved which were Nursing Student Society (NSS), Physiotheraphy Student Society (PHYSS), Medical Imaging (Radiography) Student Society and Pharmtech Student Society (PTSS) which made this event possible.

LTH CAMPAIGN The list of VIPS and speakers who attended this event were Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Honorary Secretary Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society and Treasurer of Malaysia Pharmaceutical Society, Perak branch, invited speakers which were Dr. Adliah binti Mohamed Soid Pegawai Kesihatan Keluarga, Unit Pembangunan Kesihatan Keluarga, JKN entitled ‘Suntikan Vaksin Antara Mitos & Realiti Menurut Teori Sains & Islam’ and Dr. Hajah Thaherah Nor bt Mohd Kassim, Ketua Unit Pembangunan Kesihatan Keluarga, entitled ‘Roles of Healthcare Professionals Services in Hospital setting’. Dr. Adliah explained to the public on how vaccines prevent diseases, vaccines and child’s immune system, side effects/risks, and ensuring vaccine safety. Dr. Adliah also answered a few questions from the public on some issues related with vaccines such as typhoid vaccines and legalization on community pharmacist to be given vaccination to patients.
From the faculty, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Fuad bin Shamsuddin, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Assoc. Prof Dr Zaswiza binti Mohd Noor, Head of Pharmacy Programme, Puan Siti Normiyah binti Hussin and Puan Norshidah binti Harun as club advisors and lectures of FPHS attended the event. The exhibitions from society clubs went really well as public can acknowledge different healthcare providers and its roles. Other than that, public visited MESRA booth to know more about UniKL and RCMP, specifically on courses that are provided. School students and children who participated coloring contest entitled “Don’t wait. Let’s Vaccinate!” were cheerful and bubbly. This event would not be such a success without the sponsorship by Casuarina @ Meru Hotel, Propharm Sdn. Bhd, Ipoh Print and Farmasi Rin. Lucky draw of 2 days and 1 night stay in hotel really added some spices to the event as public were really eager to win a chance. In general, this event really increased the awareness of the community on vaccination as well as uplifted the branding of University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) to the eyes of the public, agencies, sponsorship companies and collaborators.
