Hello, my name is Ashley Samantha

Ramirez. I am from Milpitas CA, I am 17 years old, and I come from a family of 7 members, 2 brothers, mom, dad and our two bog’s Linus and Bella. I am currently a High School student in 11th grade. I love being surrounded by my family and friends. Spending time with my dogs who are my world. Music is a big part of my life.

Since I was a child, I loved dancing and music has always been my outlet for selfexpression. Listening to music especially from my favorite artists 5 Seconds of Summer, The Weeknd and of course, Spanish music ranging from Salvadoran cumbias to reggaeton. I’m a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. My favorite heroes range from Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Wanda Maximoff to our fallen heroes Natasha Romanoff and our beloved Iron Man. I also love to travel and explore the world like visiting national parks. In the future I would like to study something in forensic science and in cinematography/theater arts. I have the amazing opportunity to be the cover for Miss Cover Girl 2022 for Expo Quinceañera Show.

Expo Quinceañera has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful and amazing people. I have made new friends and learned many things. Since I was a child I loved wearing dresses, being in front of the camera, dancing and wearing heels.

I always saw my mother put on makeup and I always remember trying to imitate her. Watching runways or beauty pageant segments with her are things I’ve always loved and always dreamed of; I always imagined myself being in one of those stages. Miss Cover Girl was a wonderful experience. I met the beautiful and talented girls who competed with me. There was always an atmosphere full of positivity between us. We always supported each other. Here you could see girls supporting girls, many of us were able to overcome some of our fears.

Winning the cover of Miss Cover Girl has made me reflect on myself and the message I want to send to the new generations of girls. My dreams are big and a bit ambitious, some might say, but the Expo has given me the opportunity to take the first steps to make them a reality. I have learned not to be afraid of the mistakes I may make or fail. I will say that I wasn’t always the girl you see today; I was full of a lot of doubt, but I knew that had to change if I really wanted to grow. I want to show the girls who dream big like me that with determination, hard work, perseverance and if it’s something they really love, anything is attainable no matter how big or “crazy” it may seem. Sometimes our biggest obstacle to getting where you want to be is yourself.

I say it from experience, I always say that if you want people to believe in you, you must start believing in yourself first. That’s the message I want to leave for everyone. I am currently modeling for professional makeup artist in my city, and I am taking my first steps in acting and modeling. Not only that, I’m in preparation for Miss Teen Latina California. To begin with, I thank God for my life and the opportunity I got to know the organization of Expo quinceañera Show and take my first steps through them. I want to thank Jose and Mary for giving me the opportunity to be on this year’s cover, as well as for allowing me to represent them. I also want to thank the judges who were in the segment that elected me and gave me their vote.

I hope I made you proud and didn’t regret your decision in selecting me to be this year’s Miss Cover Girl. I also want to thank all the people who were showing their support from afar. Finally, I would like to thank my family.

My family were my greatest supporters all year. They always wished the best for me, cheered beyond measure and came on the day of the competition to show their support. Finally, I want to thank my mother. My mom has always been my number #1 supporter. She made sure I practiced and gave it my all day of the competition. She is the one who takes me to every event no matter the distance or time.

She’s always in the front row, even when she’s most tired from work to see me and shout my name. She has always made me feel supported and loved in every way. Thanks for everything mom. I don’t think I would be here without her and her words of encouragement and teaching that with hard work anything I set my mind to can happen. I want you to know that every victory, big or small, with me is not only mine but ours. There aren’t enough words of gratitude to explain how grateful I am. I hope I’ve made you and everyone proud. All my work and dedication has paid off. Now I’m ready to be your next Cover Girl!
