One Health Young Leaders and Communicators

On 6th April 2019, more than 60 multidisciplinary undergraduate students from several universities underwent an exciting six-day training at the Sudara Beach Resort, Kelantan. Intending to produce a holistic One Health future workforce, the training focuses on strengthening participants’ communication, leadership, and partnership skills, using One Health Core Competencies as guidance. Participants were indulged in interactive lectures, group work, games, and team-building sessions scheduled by facilitators led by Dr. Sandie Choong from UMK. This year, the activity trained students from 8 local universities, including those in social sciences and economy, namely UNIMAS, UMS, USM, UUM, UMT, UniSZA, and four students from the Institute of One Health, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh.
