“Feng Shui Poetry in the Parks” is a Los Angeles based program that transports inner city high school students to the Southland’s most spectacular parks where they are tutored by West Hollywood’s Poet Laureat Jen Cheng. The program seeks to inspire and empower participants by leveraging the time immersed in nature to help them express themselves in ways previously unexplored - and even unimagined ways. IMAF’s $1,500 contribution to the program was used to print a compilation of recently composed work. Students were thrilled to see their efforts printed in a physical, journal format. provides bedside music performances to hospitalized patients. To date, they have visited 1.25 million patient rooms. Volumes of research studies have corroborated the healing power of music, which provides the impetus for this wonderful program. This year, IMAF is proud to have made a $5,400 contribution to help them expand their pediatric program. Learn more here.
With education…
“New Age Prep” helps underserved, urban teens gain admission and scholarships into the nation’s finest college prep schools like Choate, Exeter, Lawrenceville and more. Once admitted, the students enjoy ongoing emotional and cultural support to help them adapt to and succeed in what is typically a completely unfamiliar milieu. IMAF provided $1,500 to support their 2026 Summer Enrichment Programs that aims to prepare applicants for SSAT and SHSAT testing. More on New Age Prep can be found here.
With nature…
IMAF donated $2,000 to support the Junior Rangers program, introducing the very young to the wonders of Yosemite National Park
IMAF seeks to help children, near and far, in a wide variety of ways. Conceived in 2025 as an adjunct, non-profit foundation (EID 99-3521580) for the International Montessori Academy in Pasadena, California, we seek out imaginative, passionate and effective advocates for child welfare to support in our efforts. We don’t restrict our focus to any single aspect of child welfare, but rather, are open to supporting meaningful efforts in education, health, medical care, nutrition, refugee resettlement and assistance, overcoming the trauma of abuse and much more. Your tax deductible donations are greatly appreciated.
Benefit concert for Musicians on Call
Clothing drive for the Jenesse Center.
In our ongoing effort to support Musicians on Call, IMAF presented a concert of iconic songs from the sixties and seventies featuring topflight musicians, some of whom actually helped make many of the original recordings! Net proceeds of $2,550 brought our 2026 contribution to Musicians on Call to $5,050!
Having provided and constructed a children’s playset for their refuge home for the families of battered women in 2025, IMAF orchestrated a clothing and personal care drive to ensure that residents’ apparel and hygiene needs are adequately met. Shown above is IMAF’s president, Isabella Sollitto, unpacking a shipment of new and lightly used goods for the center. More on the Jenesse Center here.
