Beneditti’s: A Passion for Pizza

For over 15 years, Leo Debenedittis has been sharing his family’s authentic Italian recipes with the residents of Palm Beach County. Leo’s mother and uncles emigrated to the U.S. from Italy, and brought their culture and customs along to pass down through the generations — including the steps for making a delicious pizza. ankfully for us, Leo soaked up this information, and, with a passion for pizza, used it to create his very own Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Jupiter — Beneditti’s.

ough it looks like a small, seemingly simple pizza shop, Beneditti’s is much, much more. In fact, as you’ll come to nd out as you read the remainder of this article, Beneditti’s has one of the very best pizzas in the area, no question! e restaurant also serves other delicious Italian and American classics, so they have something for everyone. Beneditti’s bright, refreshing caprese salad (sm. $10.49; lg. $11.49) is simple, yet avorful. With just a few high-quality ingredients — crisp lettuce, vibrant tomatoes, creamy mini mozzarella balls, and incredibly fresh, fragrant basil — the salad enlivens your spirit with its vibrant herbaceous avors. Try it with an order of the restaurant’s tasty garlic cheese bread ($5) — if you want to add a little more crunch, you can use a slice for a makeshi crouton!

You can’t go to Beneditti’s without ordering a pizza! We shared a large 16” one, with ½ as the Beneditti’s special and the other ½ as the Spinach special. Both versions of the thin-crust pizza, despite being weighted down by a generous number of toppings, held up impressively, not folding over or opping whatsoever.

Meat lovers will appreciate the Beneditti’s special, which is loaded with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. Savory and satisfying, this “very avorful” pie delighted Abby and Luis both. “It’s not doughy or greasy,” Abby commented, “and the veggies aren’t so … they still have some rmness, so they have more avor.”

Veggie lovers, on the other hand, will do well to order the Spinach special, which features tender spinach, grape tomatoes, ricotta and

mozzarella cheeses, and fresh basil. As soon as I took my rst bite of it, I was transported to the Northeastern hole-in-the-wall pizza joints that I so love and miss. e crust is crispy, yet so , while the tomato sauce is robust and the ricotta is creamy and sweet. Sheer heaven! As I greedily gobbled up my rst of many slices, I thought to myself, “Yeah, this is why Beneditti’s is the highest-rated pizza place in

Jupiter on both Google and Yelp.”

You can’t go wrong with a stromboli (sm: $14.49; lg. $21.99) from Beneditti’s either. Pizza dough is rolled with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions, then served with a large side of rustic tomato sauce. “It’s the perfect ratio,” Luis

complimented, “of cheese to meat and vegetables, so it’s not greasy or soggy. Plus, it’s crisp on the outside but so on the inside.”

If you have a sweet tooth, then you should nish your meal at Beneditti’s with a cannoli ($5.90). e crispy outer shell is full of thick, decadently sweet cream that includes chocolate chips. e shell’s bottom half is also dipped in a thin layer of milk chocolate for extra richness.
