Find High-Quality Comfort
Food at Busters

What’s
not to love about comfort food? It tastes delicious, it’s satisfying, and, perhaps most importantly, it makes you happy! Sometimes, though, comfort food can be unhealthy, especially if you’re getting it from somewhere that values quantity and quickness over quality. So, when you nd a restaurant that offers the best of both worlds — comfortable, classic meals made with fresh, quality ingredients — it’s like nding a hidden treasure. Luckily, we found the shiniest gem for you: Busters.
Cindy and Mike “Charlie” Chaisson are Hobe Sound locals who took the opportunity to nally open the “burger shack of their dreams” — Busters — with a focus on serving beloved American comfort meals without compromising on quality and freshness. The dream came true earlier this year after 15 years, when the couple rst made a promise to one another that they would one day open a restaurant named after their beloved English bulldog, Buster. Now, the couple is establishing Busters as a local hotspot for the best homemade American “soul food” that “satis es your entire being.”
To deliver on that vision, Cindy & “Charlie” exclusively use fresh, never frozen ingredients, and source as much local, organic produce as possible. Additionally, they have transformed the restaurant space into a cozy, down-home setting that makes you feel like you’ve walked into a relative’s house for a homecooked meal. In all reality, you basically are, because the Chaissons aim to make you feel totally welcomed and cared for as you are served recipes passed down through generations of their own family.
You absolutely, positively cannot go to Busters without ordering their “Get Smashed” burger ($14)! Two thick, fresh, and ultratender beef patties are layered with double slices of American cheese, then topped with two strips of crispy, cherry wood dry-aged bacon, plus lettuce and tomato. Busters burger is so good that you don’t even need to add condiments or other toppings! “The high-quality beef,” Abby raved, “is really, really juicy, and the bacon has a hint of maple avor, which adds a nice sweetness. None of the meat is greasy, either, so eating it doesn’t make me feel bloated.” Luis agreed with Abby’s observations, and added, “Normally, I don’t prefer American cheese. But on this burger, it’s perfectly gooey, rich, and ties everything together.”
The Smash Burger was such a hit that both Luis and I took another one home for our loved ones to enjoy! If you love a good burger, then Busters is de nitely the place to go.
If you’d prefer a lighter dish, then select the “Bust a Move Salad” ($15), which is so tasty, yet light and refreshing, that it will truly make you want to dance. A generous portion of spinach leaves and Spring salad mix is layered with grilled chicken, homemade crunchy croutons, avocado slices, halved strawberries, chopped red onions, crumbled goat cheese, and sliced almonds, then served with a side of tart raspberry balsamic dressing. The farm-raised grilled chicken breast strips, which are free of antibiotics, are so juicy and tender that they practically melt in your mouth, while the homemade Rye bread croutons offer a satisfying crunch and mild avor. All of the vegetables and fruit are brilliantly bright and fresh. And that goat cheese?! It boasts a deep, nutty taste that tantalizes every tastebud. Busters doesn’t skimp on any of these quality ingredients, either! If you are able to nish the large bowl of salad, then you’ll be comfortably full for the day; otherwise, you’ll have some delicious leftovers calling your name later.
For a heartening mood boost, try the mega grilled cheese and tomato soup entrée ($12). Rich cheddar, gouda, and havarti cheeses are melted together on your choice of bread, then served with a cup of warm tomato soup for dipping.
