Get your maracas ready, it’s time for a party! What are we celebrating? The delicious flavors at Rancho Chico Mexican Restaurant, of course!
From the very beginning of your Rancho Chico experience to the very end, you will taste food that will make you say “mmm!” You start with chips and salsa, which are complimentary, bottomless, and super addictive! You won’t be able to stop yourself from picking at them. Abby agrees, saying, “I think Rancho Chico has the best homemade salsa in town. It’s really tasty!”
We also ordered the queso appetizer ($6.99), not only because you can never go wrong with hot cheese dip, but also because Abby and I now had another excuse to continue gorging on those deliciously crunchy tortilla chips. Similarly addictive, the queso is thick, creamy, and, naturally, cheesy. It’s a quintessential Mexican appetizer, so if you haven’t had it, then do yourself a favor-- try Rancho Chico’s version!
For lunch, I selected the vegetarian burrito ($8.99), which took up the entire plate, and the plate was large in and of itself, mind you! Rice, beans, and fresh vegetables are wrapped in a soft flour tortilla and smothered in both enchilada sauce and melted cheese. It is a lunch that is savory and filling without being too heavy, so you’ll leave feeling sated and satisfied, not sluggish! Abby chose the chicken fajitas ($10.99), also a generously sized portion. Tender, juicy chicken is cooked with crisp vegetables in perfectly balanced spices, then served-- sizzling aromatically-- with warm tortillas and traditional yellow rice and refried beans. Abby says, “The flavors are delightful and authentically Mexican!”

to order dessert! Abby and I sampled the cheesecake chimichanga ($4.99) and churros ($4.99). The cheesecake chimichanga is smooth and creamy, with a delicate, yet satisfying, crunchy outer shell. It’s served warm and is just the right size for two people to share! The churros are cooked flawlessly, with an initial slight crunch accompanied by a heavenly inner warmth and fluffiness. Topped with oodles of chocolate sauce, honey, cinnamon, and whipped cream, they are a fun, irresistible option for any and all ages. Abby and I, feeling pleasantly plump, took the dessert leftovers back to our office and they didn’t even last 5 minutes! Our coworkers raved about them, so you’ll just have to do the same thing we did-- order both!
