Antonio’s Italian Market
Antonio’s Italian Market Has Bottled Italy & Brought it to Palm Beach County!
Domenick Panzarino was born in Italy, so he knows more than a thing or two about authentic Italian cuisine. His lovely wife, Gina, is also of Italian heritage, and has been back to Italy with Domenick to experience not only the vibrant culture, but also the unparalleled cuisine. It is with this extensive knowledge of genuine Italian avors and cooking styles that Domenick and Gina successfully own and operate Antonio’s Italian Market in North Palm/Juno Beach — a legitimate Italian market, deli, caterer, and takeout/dine-in (for quick service)/delivery restaurant that offers extraordinarily exquisite homemade Italian cuisine as well as numerous food items — such as pastas, sauces, and snacks — imported directly from Italy.
From Antonio’s takeout menu, Abby and I sampled The Bella sandwich ($11.95), The Vincenzo panini ($11.95), and The Milano salad ($10.95).
The Bella comes with your choice of chicken or eggplant, which is then topped with sweet roasted red peppers, hot capicola, melted imported provolone cheese, and rich blue cheese dressing. You almost have to unhinge your jaw to take your rst bite, as the thick sandwich is generously stuffed with its ingredients! It’s cheesy, with just enough spice from the capicola, and the eggplant is mild and lightly breaded. Abby declared this sandwich as a “must-order item.”
Antonio’s is known for their Italian sausage, so The Vincenzo panini was the perfect choice for Abby and me to try it. It’s made using scrumptiously savory, crunchy ciabatta bread that’s smeared with a slightly salty black olive paste, then loaded with tender-cooked broccoli rabe and your choice of mild or hot sausage. The mild sausage has a slight heat that’s cut by avorful spices and the right ratio of salt. The olive spread, with a distinctive earthiness, complements the nutty broccoli rabe well.
If you’re looking for lighter fare, then try The Milano salad — a lovely arrangement of fresh mixed greens, crisp, sliced pears, creamy gorgonzola, and sweet, toasted pecans that comes with a side of tangy honey mustard dressing. It’s a generous portion that will most de nitely satisfy your hunger without compromising on calories!
Beyond the made-to-order sandwiches, paninis, and salads available at Antonio’s Italian Market is the different array each day of
authentic, homemade Italian dishes that are pre-made and available to warm up for quick, convenient takeout or, if you have more time, dine-in at one of the market’s two charming café-style tables. All of these meals, including the sandwiches, paninis, and salads, are available for catering service – perfect for the upcoming Easter and Passover holidays! Ordering catered food from Antonio’s Italian Market is essentially like bringing a real Italian into your home as a personal chef, as many of the recipes have been passed down from generation to generation of the Panzarino family (I mean, can you get any more Italian than that name?!).
I cannot recommend Antonio’s freshly-baked focaccia highly enough… it is with full and complete sincerity that I tell you that this bread is hands-down the absolute best that I have ever had the pleasure to taste since rst moving to South Florida 3 years ago. I mean, seriously, I will drive to Antonio’s for that focaccia no matter how much traf c there is and no matter how long it takes me to get there. It was pure, unadulterated bliss on my tongue, with a perfectly crunchy outside, über soft, pillowy inside, rustic seasonings, and sweet, slightly tangy, tomatoes on top to balance all of the rich avors. I honestly felt like I was transported to the Italian countryside as I savored it.
Meanwhile, Abby was oored by the eggplant parmesan, saying, “This is not your run-of-the-mill eggplant parm… the eggplant is thick, but not mushy or greasy, and the avor of the homemade, chunky, slightly sweet sauce with it ties everything together. I would de nitely order this again… it’s just so good!” She let me try a bite, but she enjoyed it so much that she kept the rest for herself! I didn’t argue, so long as I got to keep the focaccia… and, as you’ll soon read, Antonio’s pizza.

I haven’t been able to nd pizza in South Florida like the pizza up home in the PA, NJ, and NY areas… that is, until I went to Antonio’s Italian Market. Their square-cut slices legitimately made my eyes misty with happy tears when I took my rst bite. Again, I will 100% travel to Antonio’s, no matter the time or distance it takes, to enjoy their pizza, because it’s truly a diamond in the rough. It’s not overly complicated, it’s not fancy, but it tastes absolutely divine, just like it does up home, with simple, straightforward, slightly sweet sauce, just the right amount of rich cheese, and a somehow both soft and crispy crust. If you’re from the Northeast, then I can almost guarantee that you will love Antonio’s pizza just as much as I do.
Abby and I had never before tried chicken contadina, but now that we have had the version at Antonio’s, I don’t know that I can ever have it anywhere else. With rich, bold avors, this rustic dish is sure to delight anyone and everyone. The word “contadina” roughly translates to “peasant girl” or “farmer’s wife” in Italian, so chicken contadina is essentially, according to numerous online articles, chicken that is cooked in a country farmer’s or peasant’s style. Gina attests, “It is made exactly the way you get it in Italy. You won’t nd this just anywhere, so a lot of people come in here for it.” Thin, ultra-juicy chicken breast is accompanied by succulent roasted rosemary potatoes, earthy mushrooms, and tender onions in a savory wine sauce with just a hint of sweetness. The rst bite is wholly satisfying, and you can tell that this homemade dish has been crafted with genuine love and passion. Abby and I both highly recommend it, especially if you’ve never before had the chance to try it.
There is so much good to say about Antonio’s Italian Market. Abby and I ate even more food there, including fresh escarole and beans that reminded me of my own Italian grandfather’s cooking, bucatini in a light clam sauce generously loaded with jumbo shrimp, shelled clams, and cherry tomatoes, a softball-sized rice ball, a lusciously creamy penne alla vodka, and a refreshing eggplant Napoleon stack that’s perfect for vegetarians. Then, there were the desserts we sampled: Bombolinis (a/k/a cream- lled Italian doughnuts) that have just the right amount of sweetness and an ultra-rich hazelnut chocolate mousse that lovers of chocolate and Nutella will absolutely adore. I want to say more about all of these amazing dishes, but I only have so much room to write! Suf ce it to say that you’d do well to order any or all of the food that Abby and I relished at Antonio’s Italian Market.
For authentic, home-cooked Italian meals, there is no better place to go than Antonio’s Italian Market! The Panzarino family has bottled Italy and brought it back to Palm Beach County. Whether you order catering, takeout, or delivery, or you choose to dine-in, you will nd yourself tasting some of the best Italian food in the area at Antonio’s Italian Market.
