Doc Wind golf tournament a success
The 10th Annual Little Falls Youth and Family Center (formerly YMCA) & Doc Wind Memorial Scholarship Tournament was a resounding success this weekend after not being played in 2020 because of COVID. It was held on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at the Henry Pelzer Municipal Golf Course of Little Falls.

Katie Drake, one of the organizers of the event stated, “Today is a really special day. We’ve been blessed with great weather. It poured this morning and then cleared just before everybody teed off. We have a full field, with one going off at 8 am and the other at 1 pm.”
Drake said that a lot of fun things had been planned, including a Tiki Bar on hole one, DikinDurt Distillery at hole four, and then a free keg of beer on the back three holes.
“This is is for two amazing charities. As a lot of people know, the Youth and Family Center formerly known as the YMCA is going through some really important changes and this is a great start to help them with their rebranding and bring attention to some of the really important programs that they have in the City.”
She said that she loves the name Youth and Family Center because it’s so much more than a gym.
Once the golfing is finished, there is a dinner at the clubhouse. “There are a lot of great prizes to give away and it’s just a chance to celebrate all that the Youth and Family Center has been able to accomplish this year and to also take a moment to remember what a kind and generous man Doc Wind was.”
Executive Director of the Youth and Family Center, Tony DeLuca said, “It’s wonderful. We’ve had great community support and we really appreciate it.”
