OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OF FIRST FREE CHURCH

I was in 6th grade when a friend invited me to the youth group at First Free. Four years later, my family started attending Sunday morning worship here. When I returned to the area afer college, God used a few special people to help me get plugged back into First Free and find postcollege friendships, ultimately leading me to where I am today. My husband Eric and I, along with our three children, currently reside in White Oak and consider it a blessing to be part of this community where we both grew up and are now raising our own family of McKeesport Tigers. It is pure joy to serve the women of First

Ministry Update

I want to take a minute to update everyone on my new role and what’s been happening recently. I’m so thankful for Pastor Kirk’s ministry at First Free Church over the past 2 decades, plus. He has been and remains a friend and brother. Stepping into my new role as Associate Pastor of Students and Congregational Care, I wanted make sure I did a few things well: First, continue to love and serve middle, high school and college students. Second, to equip and activate our Deacons and Deaconesses to minister in a variety of ways. Lastly, make sure the elderly, sick and widowed members of our church are cared for.

By God’s grace, I believe we are well on our way to seeing those goals realized. None of the above can

First Free’s Annual Church Picnic

It's time for our annual First Free Church Picnic!

We are excited to once again invite our local First Responders to join us for this special time of food and fellowship.

A few important notes:

* If you're able, please consider bringing camp chairs and picnic blankets to make even more room at the pavilion.

* Food will be served beginning at 1:00 pm.

* Please visit our DONATION BOARD in the Main Lobby beginning Sunday, September 1st. The Donation Board will include picnic items, volunteer needs, as well as other items for our first responder gifts!

*A delicious, classic picnic lunch will be served and our potluck items this year will be desserts only! To add to the fun, we will be having an optional BAKING CONTEST!! Have fun and bring your best goodies!

* Please bring all PRE-CUT desserts DIRECTLY TO THE PAVILION when you arrive at the picnic, around 1:00pm.

You can RSVP in the Main Lobby on Sunday mornings! We look forward to sharing good food and fellowship at this year's Church Picnic!

happen with just one person of course. We have an amazing team of Youth Ministry Leaders. We also have a tremendous group of Deacons and Deaconesses. These folks are servant hearted, willing to take initiative, and ready to help.

Pastor Kevin and I both agree that it takes a team approach to minister effectively. He and I communicate daily about folks who are sick or in the hospital. We believe that congregational care is certainly led by pastors but not exclusive to them. Our Deacon Team has already gone on dozens of visits since May. We want people to know they are loved and not forgotten. Part of being the Body of Christ involves caring for widows, orphans, the sick and the vulnerable. With God’s help, we want to do just that in the Name of Jesus.

Please be in prayer for these ministry areas!

2024 First Free Women’s Conference

October 4th & 5th

The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 – "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

At First Free Church we are devoted to declaring and demonstrating the good news of God's grace through Jesus Christ. HE is making all things NEW! With that being said, this year our conference theme is “Made New” with guest speaker Myra Dempsey.

New this year is the addition of a Friday night program from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. We’ll gather for a Bible hour in the Auditorium, followed by an hour of sweet fellowship including a seasonal make & take craft and dessert. Saturday’s program will run from 9:00 AM -3:00 PM and will include breakfast, lunch, teaching sessions, breakout discussion, after lunch electives and more!

Whether you are a lifelong believer or new to faith, there is something for all of us here! We encourage you to nvite your family, friends and co-workers! So stop by the lobby information table on Sundays and take an invite card to share. We hope to see you on October 4th and 5th! Let’s grow together as we seek God in His Word and accept His invitation to draw near to Him.

To God be the Glory!
