Slow and Steady for Jesus
WRITTEN BY TERRY RUCCIO WITH SONSHINE COMMUNITY MINISTRIES
We are almost at a one year point with this pandemic. We have had our ups and downs over these months as so many other people and ministries. It has caused us to evaluate, rethink, adjust and stand faithful; all very good things.

I am so grateful that we, at Sonshine have remained open almost the whole time. We have continued to make the necessary changes, and have served with less volunteers and to a smaller amount of people.
But we are here, we are being a light and continue to be faithful in these months.
The holidays were a time to help our families by way of Holiday Food Boxes as well as helping with over 150 + Christmas presents. On December 6, we hosted an “ outdoor nativity “ in our Sonshine lot to share the true meaning of Christmas to our families and our neighborhood. Inside, each family was able to take a family photo, which we printed and delivered for Christmas in a frame, and receive a gift of baked homemade cookies. We were glad we could do something for our families during this month. Many hands made this event possible. It was definitely a highlight.
Looking Ahead in 2021
We will continue with our regular meetings at Sonshine : Monday chapel and meals, Hang 5 after school group, 12 step recovery meeting and Bible study, as well as our monthly mom support meetings. Starting In February we will be able to offer a Thursday night Bible study that is open to the community and our families. We will partner with the Dream Center to help people grow in their walk with Jesus.
We are hoping to once again do a week at Pine Valley in June as well as our Summer Fun nights with the neighborhood children throughout the summer.
Keep us in prayer as we serve in these uncertain times. Our Lord is never uncertain; He can be trusted.
