This Holiday Season...

It has been nearly 30 years ago that singer songwriter Rich Mullins penned the following lyric referencing God leading His people out of captivity in Exodus 13.

"Lord, You’re leading me by a cloud by day And then in the night, the glow of a burning flame And everywhere I go I see You, everywhere I go I see You" from I SEE YOU by Rich Mullins
As we enter into the 2020 holiday season, let’s be intentional about ‘seeing’ God everywhere we go and in everything we do, for there is evidence of His goodness everywhere and in everything. According to Romans 1:18-20, there is ample evidence for all to see of His ‘eternal power and divine nature’ since the creation of the world, in the things that He has made. Let’s take time out of our busy day and just STOP and think about His love, think about His goodness, think about His grace that has brought us through this year.
Evidence of God’s Goodness will be the theme of our 2020 Praise and Thanksgiving service on Sunday, November 22 at 6 p.m. Come out and hear how God has displayed His goodness to various members in our congregation both in times of plenty and times of hardship. This year, due to the pandemic, we will not be having a Pie & Pudding Fellowship following the service, but we will be sure to head home with the uplifting glow of having gathered together in worship.
The current pandemic has also caused us to rethink presenting a Live Nativity this holiday season. In place of the Live Nativity event, we will present a Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 13 as we celebrate His promises fulfilled by sending the Messiah. That day will have two performances, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., to be able to accommodate the audience while maintaining social distancing.
The program will consist of solos, duets, small ensembles, handchimes, instrumentals and even a puppet skit. An evening of celebrating the Christmas season through music. Since capacity in the auditorium is limited, we will be asking people to register to attend event.
Our 2020 holiday season culminates with our Christmas Eve Service, which will be held on Thursday, December 24 at 5 and 7 p.m. Come all ye faithful and join your church family in ‘Singing of Jesus’ as we come together and worship the newborn King. Be on the lookout for more information about this service.
Why not consider inviting a friend or neighbor to join in our celebrations as we give glory to God for His goodness in bringing us through this difficult year and for providing our greatest need: a Savior, Christ Jesus, our Lord?
