The helicopter landing draws a crowd at the annual Kids Block Party and Touch-a-Truck event at the Saint Charles Convention Center. This year’s event will be held Aug. 23 from 10 am – 2 pm and is free and open to the public.
Trucks, inflatables, games, arts & crafts, and more for kids and parents! Looking for a fun and free indoor event encouraging healthy, active, and safe lifestyles among young children and families? The 8th annual Kids Block Party and Touch-a-Truck event is just the event for the whole family, especially kids ages 3-10. Global Spectrum, managers of the Saint Charles Convention Center, are hosting their 8th annual Kids Block Party and Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 am – 2 pm. This free, local community event, which is open to the public, is set to feature a variety of kids’ favorite trucks and vehicles, bounce houses, arts & crafts, and games. Plus attendees will witness a live helicopter landing during the event. New to the event—and in-line with the always popular Touch-a-Truck feature—this year is #DrawATruckKBP, a truck drawing contest for children ages three and up on Twitter. Kids draw their favorite vehicle, parents either post the drawing on Facebook or Twitter and tag #DrawATruckKBP, or mail in to the Convention Center. The drawing is then entered into a contest to win one of three free Family Lunch and Prize Paks at the event. #DrawATruckKBP is a special component that puts community kids at the focal point of the event through their creative and imaginative efforts.
