9th Annual ArtWalk at The Foundry Art Centre Saint Charles Riverfront Arts (SCRA) is teaming up with the Foundry Art Centre to co-host the 9th Annual ArtWalk. With this new partnership, the ArtWalk event will now take place during the summer – July 11-13 – at the Foundry Art Centre. The two organizations are announcing the “Call For Entry” for the 9th Annual ArtWalk. Entries can be submitted online to SCRA through their website – www. saintcharlesriverfrontarts.com – from now through Friday, May 30. The annual ArtWalk is a three day event that features juried artists. Proceeds from the event will benefit Saint Charles Riverfront Arts’ efforts to promote visual and performing arts and arts education throughout St. Charles County. The annual ArtWalk is an “artist friendly” event – there is no commission on the artists’ sales, and the art is exhibited indoors so artists don’t contend with outdoor tents and booth fees. The Foundry Art Centre and Saint Charles Riverfront Arts will provide extensive media exposure for the show. Printed posts cards and electronic post cards will be provided so individual artists can promote their participation to their clients, family and friends. The ArtWalk– started in 2006 by Saint Charles Riverfront Arts – is the primary venue to support the organization’s mission: “To inspire and enhance our community through exploration f the arts by virtue of education and collaboration.” “The ArtWalk event has grown significantly over the past eight years, in terms of the number of artists who participate and the public audience who come to St. Charles to enjoy the weekend’s activities and purchase the available works of art,”

said Lou Cariffe, board president of the Saint Charles Riverfront Arts organization. “It has become a big draw for local and regional artists, and presents regional musical performances at venues throughout the weekend.” Angel Fowle, Executive Director for the Foundry Art Centre, adds, “We are excited to be partnering with SCRA, and to be hosting this premiere event for the City of St. Charles at our venue. The ArtWalk contributes to the entire St. Louis area, in terms of opportunities for public cultural enrichment and education, and the promotion of the visual and performing artists.” To be eligible for entry, ArtWalk artists must be at least 18 years old. Saint Charles Riverfront Arts requires digital images and a fully completed entry form (available to download from the organization’s website - www.saintcharlesriverfrontarts.com) and a $25 jury fee, payable by check (made out to Saint Charles Riverfront Arts) or via PayPal. Digital images must be at least 200 dpi and a maximum of 800 pixels on the longest side. Artists must submit three digital images of their artwork, and artists who choose to submit more than one primary medium (e.g. painting), should submit three digital images for each medium. Saint Charles Riverfront Arts reserves the right to jury each primary medium as a separate entry. Each image must be accompanied with the following information: title, size, and medium. All ArtWalk submissions are due to Saint Charles Riverfront Arts by Friday, May 30 – artist submissions will be reviewed by the jury committee, and accepted artists will be notified no later than June 6. Because there are no commissions col-

lected, accepted artists are required to donate one piece of art work valued at $250 or more to the event’s Patron’s Preference Auction, which is held on Sunday, July 13. Donations must be original art and presented ready for the Patron to use (e.g. ready to hang or display). Patron’s Preference entries are due with the artist’s ArtWalk submissions. All donated artwork for the Patron’s Preference Auction must be delivered to the Foundry Art Centre by Friday, June 27. For more information about the 9th Annual ArtWalk submission process or for specific questions regarding entry submissions, please contact Neal Gray at neal@saintcharlesriverfrontarts.com.
