The City of Florissant and the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce team up for the event of the season. You, your family, your co-workers and your friends are invited to attend the 2013 Business Showcase and Taste of North County on Saturday, March 23, 10am - 2pm at the James J. Eagan Community Center in Florissant. At the free event, you will learn more about local businesses and organizations and the products and services they offer to the community. Health screenings also will be available. New this year is the addition of the Taste of North County. An area of the community center will be roped off for this event and local restaurants will serve samples of their best dishes for a nominal fee of $5 for adults, $2 for children under 12. During the event, the City of Florissant will open its swimming pool to anyone (resident or non-resident) who attends the event for the cost of a resident’s fee, $1.50 for youth and $2.25 for adults. The city’s game room with its two pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, and foosball tables will also be open for participants to use.
The Greater North County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Florissant are co-sponsoring this 25th anniversary of the showcase. This year’s Presenting Sponsors are Christian Hospital, Delmar Gardens North & Garden Villas North and Schnucks Markets. “The City of Florissant is proud to join the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce to host their 25th annual Business [Showcase]. When the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce first hosted this event in 1989 their service area was already larger that the City of Florissant which eventually resulted in the recent change in the official name of the Chamber,” explains Mayor Thomas P. Schneider. “Our area of North County is blessed with closeknit community minded business stakeholders who consistently contribute to our quality of life. Our residents benefit not only from the goods and services provided by Chamber members but also from their generous support of the many service and charitable organizations in our area.”
