“Gobblin’ It Up at Thanksgiving” annual turkey give-away begins!

It is time to enter The Idaho Enterprise “Gobblin’ It Up for Thanksgiving” drawing! Local businesses sponsor the event, and free turkeys will be provided by the sponsors for the winners from each store. Fill in the entry blanks for each of the 20 participating merchants on Page 6 and 7 in this edition of The Idaho Enterprise. Fill in your name, address and telephone number on the forms, or entry blanks provided by the merchants. Take the entry forms to the merchants listed and place them in their entry boxes. You may be one of the lucky residents to win a turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner. Enter at all 20 locations! All entries must be in Wednesday, Nov. 16, and on Nov. 18, a drawing will be

held by each of the sponsors; and winners will be notified to come pick up their turkeys! The rules specify that entrants do not have to be present to win. Participating sponsors for “Gobblin It Up at Thanksgiving” are the following: Thomas Market, Mountain States Insurance, Hess Lumber and Home Center, Hotel Malad and the Hubcap Lounge, Allen Drug and Variety, Thomas Electric & Furniture, Griffiths OK Tire, Oneida Family Dental, Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital, KJ’s Super Store, Farm Bureau Insurance, Northern Title Co. of Idaho, Idaho Real Estate Group, Edith's Collective Florist, ATC Communications, Malad Drive-in, The Idaho Enterprise, Outlaw Vapor, Albert’s Service, and Malad City.

This week, the Idaho Enterprise is being sent out to all mail customers in Oneida County. Inside, you will find the kind of local coverage that only your hometown paper can deliver: Halloween at the elementary school and in the Curlew Valley, Library events, and hometown teams at state competitions. If you are already a subscriber, thank you for your help in keeping the paper going! If not, contact 1-208-766-4773 to make us a part of your week!

Green lightbulbs for Operation Green Light to honor Veterans across the county were distributed over the weekend at several locations, including Central Sinclair and Thomas Market. The Boy Scoots hope to do it again Thursday and Friday this week, but in the meantime, City Hall is the main location to obtain the lightbulbs, and Tony McClain can be reached at 7663200 with any questions.

Delphi, Indiana is a small town about 75 miles north of Indianapolis. In 2017, two teenaged girls were abducted and murdered along a hiking trail. The case has been closely followed across the country in the intervening years, becoming a subject of dozens of true crime podcasts and television programs. The suspect, Richard Allen of Delphi, has been charged with the murders of Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14.

State Controller investigating “Don’t Vote” signs Signs which have recently sprung up around the state bearing the phrase “Don’t Vote” and a QR code are under examination by the state controller. The QR code directs visitors to sites which promote the campaign of Ammon Bundy. Whether the sings are connected to the campaign itself or not is unclear, and the issue is actually the reason for the controller’s investigation. Campaign signs in Idaho are required by law to provide information about how they were funded, and whether they constitute a direct campaign expense or an “in-kind donation”. The expense should show up on the campaign’s records by November 10, if properly filed.
