“All it takes is all you got”- Marc Davis. We had three athletes medal at the Preston Invitational on their golf course. They are Brycen Talbot, Cally Coleman, and Cortlyn Coleman. For the women’s race for Malad in 15th place was Cally Coleman with a time of 20:39, Cortlyn Coleman with a time of 20:43 in 19th place, Brooke Isaacson with a time of 21:34, Kaylee Nalder with a time of 21:51, Hadlee Summers with a time of 22:28, Oaklie Hebdon with a time of 23:13, Adi Schow with a time of 23:17, and Madleyn Shaw with a time of 26:36.

The men’s team included Brycen Talbot coming in first for Malad with a time of 17:35 in 9th place, Austin Jacobsen with a time of 18:28, Baylor Bean with a time of 18:45, Porter Allen with a time of 19:01, Boston Burbidge with a time of 19:05, Colt Coleman with a time of 19:28, Levi Angell with a time of 20:00, and Caden Jeppson with a time of 20:16. Way to go athletes you worked hard and pushed yourself to the limit with many PR’s! We are excited for our District Meet results to be posted next week.

On Wednesday Oct 12, 2022 The sophomores and the juniors were able to take the PSAT and the nmsqt. The sophomores took the PSAT and the juniors took the nmsqt. The testing was done in the students' homeroom classes and it started when the bell rang. They took two English and two math tests. The students took an hour long english test then got a five minute break. After the break the students took the 35 minute English test and the 25 minute Math test. They had one more five minute break and then took the last 45 minute math test. After they finished all the testing they were released for lunch. Their lunch break was extended by about an hour and they were back by sixth hour. “It was a terrible test,” Mckenzie Leckie said after taking the test.

One of Malad High School’s new students, moving from Syracuse, Utah, is Boston Burbidge. Boston is involved in Track and Cross Country. He is also a Freshman this year. In his free time, Boston likes to go and fish anywhere there is water. His favorite food is any type of fruit. His biggest fear is being alone. What motivates Boston to work hard is fruit. His favorite color is blue and his favorite thing about Malad is the mountains and nature.
