Oaklie Hebdon was a true star of the 2022 2A State Championship Track Tournament. She took gold in the 300 Hurdles, and also medaled in 3 other events: long jump (5th), triple jump (5th), and 4x400. Oaklie's 300 hurdles also beat the school record that had been standing for over 10 years.

The Girls 4x400 relay team also earned 5th place.

Ryan Adams took 3rd place in the High Jump. Adams made it to state as a wild card, and had a great day high jumping, tying his personal record of 5'10".

Brynlee Bastian also medaled in 4 events: 200 open (5th), 400 M (2nd), 800 m (5th), and as part of the 4x400 relay team.

Malad Bass Fishing Competes at Flaming Gorge

On June 4, the Malad Bass Fishing Club competed at Flaming Gorge in the last event of the school year.

The winners of the event as a whole were from Evanston High, and they will go to the national championship at Lake Heartwell to fish for scholarships and the title of the best high school in America. The Malad team as a whole took third in the Wyoming Highschool Bass Fishing Qualifier.

The Malad coaches are BIGDOG (Tim Rawlings), Bret Felter, Bret Colegrove. The Malad Boat captains were BIGDOG, Adam Peterson, Scott Rich, and Steve Thompson.

Malad Highschool took 6 teams, made up of Riggin Rawlings, Cooper Jones, Deken Williams, Zach Richardson, Alex White, Roper Higley, Austin Higley, Tayson Davis, Carson Hunt, Irish Loftis, Dutch Loftis, and Suade Daniels.

Malad also fished for the best in their school with Deken Williams and Zach Richardson winning the Honorary Jordan Atkinson Bass Belt.
