Im böhmischen Roßbach, dort, wo das klassische Webhandwerk traditionell zuhause ist, begann Max Baumann 1916 auf einem Webstuhl anspruchsvolle Stoffe von hoher Qualität zu weben. Mit diesem Qualitätsanspruch schuf er – zusammen mit seinem Bruder Franz – auf den Säulen eines traditionellen Meisterbetriebs über Generationen eines der kreativsten und fortschrittlichsten Textilunternehmen seiner Art. Heute ist unser Familienbetrieb im niederösterreichischen Waldviertel zuhause. Es ist nicht zuletzt dieser beeindruckende Standort, der prägend ist für eine textile Kultur, die heute überall auf der Welt überzeugt. Und die wir mit jeder Faser pflegen, leben und weiterentwickeln. Tag für Tag.
In 1916 Max Baumann started producing sophisticated fabrics of the finest quality in the Bohemian town of Rossbach, a traditional centre for classic weaving. It was this quality of the highest standard that enabled him and his brother Franz, over generations, to establish one of the most creative and advanced textile companies of its kind based on the philosophy of a traditional master company. Today our family business is based in the lower Austrian Waldviertel. It is not least this impressive location, which characterises a culture of textiles, and which today draws customers worldwide. A culture that we live, cultivate and continue to develop with every fibre woven. Day by day.

Internationale Reedereien setzen mit Baumann Textilien auf maritime Eleganz auch an Bord. In den vergangenen Jahren haben wir Stoffe für viele Kreuzfahrtschiffe entwickelt, gefertigt und geliefert. So zieren heute mehr als 20.000 Meter Stoff aus unserem Haus das derzeit größte »schwimmende Hotel« der Welt – das, ein- und ausgekleidet mit Baumann Textilien, seinem Namen alle Ehre erweist: »Oasis of the Seas«.

So bodenständig Baumannstoffe und ihre Herstellung auch sind: Für manche sind sie ein Grund mehr zum Durchstarten – und Abheben! Denn Baumann Bezugsstoffe sind nicht nur leichter, sondern auch pflegeleichter als viele andere Materialien. Deshalb stattet z. B. die Fluglinie »Blue Air« die Sitzpolster seiner Passagiersitze in der extraleichten und schwer entflammbaren Trevira CS Qualität aus dem Hause Baumann aus. Damit spart Blue Air nicht nur Treibstoff durch weniger Gewicht, sondern auch Arbeitszeit. Denn wo herkömmliche Polster chemisch gereinigt werden müssen, werden unsere Stoffe einfach gewaschen. So leicht und schön kann Fliegen sein.
Just like the long established Baumann fabrics and their manufacture; for many the right reason to launch – and take-flight. Baumann upholstery fabrics are not only lighter but are also far easier to clean than many other materials. For this reason the airline »Blue Air« selected the passenger seat upholstery from the extra light and flame resistant Baumann fabric Trevira CS Quality. Blue Air therefore saves not only fuel due to less weight but also working time. Where traditional upholstery must be dry cleaned, our fabrics can simply be washed. Flying can really be so light and easy.
