Team Canada MX is proud to announce one of the eight nominees chosen to represent Canada at this year’s Motocross of Nations (MXON) in Lommel, Belgium September 30, 2012. Team Canada MX will help send three of the country’s top riders to compete at the single most important event on the World Motocross Calendar. Team Canada Nominee: Kaven Benoit I would be so proud again to represent my country in Lommel this year. I’ve seen lots of videos from that track and it looks challenging. From my past experiences on the Canadian national circuit, I always had good races in the sand. Racing the 2010 MXON in Colorado was an awesome experience for me. I realized the whole deal only when I got back home. It was such a prestigious event that everything went so fast and I enjoyed every second there. From the Monday after the event I was wishing to go back again. This year I will be racing CMRC nationals only from round 5 because of a lack of preparation on the bike. I had surgery on my right knee on December 23rd and I started riding on May 12th slowly. The knee feels good but still needs some time to be 100%. I will be preparing doing some provincial races and hope to be full ready for gopher dunes. I will be racing most of them in MX2 and at least one in MX1.

History: I started racing at the age of 4 in Québec. At the age of 7 our family stayed in Florida from September to April to race against the best amateur riders. We did that 2 years in a row and it really helped. I went to school down there where I learned more than 3/4 of my English. During my amateur career I raced all over North America. I did Loretta Lynn’s in 2002, Mini O’s in Florida lots of times, Lake Whitney. I did a couple of international races in Martinique, Jamaica and Bermuda. I’ve won over 25 provincial amateur championships in Québec. I only have 1 Canadian amateur championship in 65cc in 2000. I moved pro in 2006. I won 3 years in a row both Pro classes in Quebec. My season with best memories is definitely 2010 where I won my first ever National overall, racing MXON and winning the Montreal Supercross in the
