Friday This Run has been recognized nationally in National Geographic World, National Road Runners

Management, Runner World, USA Today, and voted Best Children's Run by Runner World May 2003. The first 125 registered participants will receive a free tee shirt. Children ages 5 - 6 will run ½ mile, ages 7 - 8 will run 1 mile, and ages 9 -14* (in the eighth grade) will run 2 miles. To register please visit www.americaskidsrun.org. This annual festival celebrates the arrival of spring and features amazing displays of fresh flower mosaics designed around one common theme. Hike Mt Etna

Depart: NAS I 7:00 am | Return: 6:00 pm Saturday Cost: $30

Hike to the top of Mt. Etna, the highest and most active volcano in Europe! Outdoor Recreation will show you some natural and geological points of interest along the way. We will hike for 9-10 hrs. (round trip). The trail will be difficult, be prepared for a strenuous and steep hike. Hiking boots are recommended. Bring a sack lunch, plenty of water and a jacket because it’s pretty cold at 9,500 feet! Don’t forget your camera to take some amazing pictures of both the mountain and the panoramic views.

Time: 4:00 pm at the Rock Wall Cave in the gym | Cost: $5 Interested in learning to belay so that you can climb on the indoor climbing wall at Midtown? Sign up for our one-hour rock wall certification course. We will teach you everything you need to know so that you can climb and belay safely. Outdoor Recreation will provide all equipment.

Spend the day at sea off the coast of Marzamemi, sightseeing, swimming, and snorkeling!!! Marzamemi, a fishing village, is on the southeastern coast of Sicily and has spectacular crystal blue-green waters. We’ll provide a delicious Sicilian BBQ on the boat as well. Bring water, snacks, a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

Join us for for Kayak Safety class. There will be two courses, one in the pool and one on open water. We’ll teach you the basic skills of kayaking along with basic self-rescue skills. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certification card, which verifies your eligibility for renting one of our sit-inside kayaks.

Mt Bike Ride in Floristella 11 Park & Agriturismo Lunch

Come bike with us on this 10-mile ride through the Floristella Park in the Enna province of Sicily. We will provide the bike, guides, transportation and the Agriturismo lunch to following the ride. We will hike around the Etna North area inside Etna Park and check out Lamponi cave as well. The altitude will be around 5,000/6,000ft and we will hike for 4-5 hours. Please bring a jacket with you as temperatures can quickly change on the mountain. Outdoor Recreation will provide headlamps.

31 Kayak by Night - Catania to Acitrezza Depart: 4:00 pm | Return: 11:00 pm

Friday Cost: $25 (includes transportation, guide, kayak and life jacket; bring Euro for food)

Paddle along the North coast of Catania to Acitrezza in the evening hours. We’ll watch the sunset as we paddle up the coast. Prior kayaking experience is not required, however, it is recommended. Once we arrive in Acitrezza, we will stop in this fishing village for dinner, choose from a panini, granita and brioche.
