Snowshoe around Mt. Sartorius

Snowshoes will be provided by Outdoor Recreation. Please inquire if you need waterproof pants or jackets.

Enjoy snowshoeing in the forest of Mt. Sartorius on this approx. 3-hour snowshoe of medium intensity. This is one of oldest conifer forests of Mt. Etna, with trees between 200-300 years old. This is a family friendly trip; however, children must be able to snowshoe for approximately two hours at a time. Bring plenty of water and snacks along with you on this trip. Make sure to dress in layers; you’ll warm up while you’re snowshoeing but cool down once we stop for breaks, and wear at least one waterproof layer on the outside. Waterproof boots are recommended for this trip.

Mt Bike Ride in Floristella Park & Agriturismo Lunch

30 Mountain Bike along the Simeto River

Join us for a mountain bike ride along the Simeto River, which is the main river of Sicily. We will bike for approx. 5 hrs, or for about 20 miles, to finish at the Simeto River Natural Reserve along the Sea. We provide the gear, transportation, and instruction; however, this trip is not for beginners due to the duration and intensity of the trip. If you wish to bring your own bike, we will transport it for you on our bike trailer. Bring plenty of water, lunch, and snacks along with you on this trip.

Calling all aspiring photographers. We are hosting a photography competition just for Single Sailors E6- and below or Geo -Bachelors! Submit your 8” x 10” photograph of your adventures through Europe. Photos will be on display and voted on by your peers at Take 5 from April 1st -10th. We must have a minimum of six participants. Prizes will be awarded to top three photos with a limit of one prize per person.

Volunteer Opportunity

do you want to get involved in the local Community? Saturday Liberty is heading out to a local food kitchen in Acireale. Transportation to and from the site will be provided and volunteers will receive a letter of recognition from MWR for their efforts. Burn Your Own Steak and Eggs Brunch!
