Descend 1,060 feet to the base of a marvelous canyon carved by the Cassibile River! Here you will find emerald green pools of water surrounded by lush oriental palm trees. Please note, this hike is demanding, and participants are required to hike back up the canyon after enjoying the beauty at the bottom. Please remember to bring a swimsuit, plenty of water, snacks, and a packed lunch. If needed, hiking backpacks can be rented from Community Recreation.

Etna by quad, viewing everything that makes her so special - explosive craters and caves, lava flows, charming old buildings, and expansive green forests. Following the tasting, we will visit the field of capers. After the tour, patrons will have the opportunity to relax in town and do some shopping. Bring euro for food and shopping) Ascend more than 1,000 stairs for spectacular views of Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea. This hike will start near Isola Bella, continue through the town of Taormina, and end at the Madonna della Rocca, perched on the hilltop town of Castelmola. During the middle of the hike, there will be free time to explore Taormina and the opportunity to sit down for a well-earned meal in Castelmola. Please wear comfortable shoes as this is a walking/stair-climbing tour.

Catania Fishing Trip Depart: NAS II 5:30 am, Marinai 5:45 am, NAS I 6:00 am Return: 3:00 pm Ages: 16+ Cost: $120 (Includes transportation, breakfast, fishing equipment and guide) On this tour designed for anglers, you’ll fish in waters up to 80 meters with an experienced fisherman. Join Community Recreation on Mt. Etna for Chestnut season! Bring a reusable bag, old grocery sack, pillowcase, or even a backpack and take the opportunity to forage for your very own supply of chestnuts. While on the mountain, our guides will roast chestnuts in the traditional Sicilian fashion for patrons to enjoy, and give a short history of the wild-growing chestnut trees. Patrons will also be able to participate in a hike during this expedition, so please remember to wear hiking boots and some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Bring water and euro for food) Summit Mt. Etna to enjoy the view of Sicily from the top! This 8-hour, round-trip hike will take participants to the summit of Mt. Etna at the new height of 3,350 meters (10,990 ft) due to the last eruptions. There are a very limited number of spots.

This time, let's throw a kayak in the water and take in another view of the beautiful Alcantara Gorge! Famous for its volcanic formations and cold water, experience kayaking through the gorge all the way to the sea surrounded by a pebbled coast.

Plemmerio Archaeological and WWII Hike Depart: NAS II 8:00 am, Marinai 8:15 am, NAS I 8:30 am Return: 5:00 pm Cost: $45 (Includes transportation, guide, and Sicilian beer and panini) On this southern Sicilian adventure, we will start by taking a moderately difficult hike through the Plemmirio Natural Reserve stretching from the Port of Ortigia through to the south side of Siracusa. This 15 km coastline, offers natural and historical experiences, as well as well-known agro-food companies. Following the hike, we will stop in Ortigia for a special (and well deserved) Sicilian panino and beer.
