Friendsgiving Scavenger Hunt Challenge Location: Virtual Grab your friends and your camera and join us for a fun scavenger hunt!

This challenge will include a list of items participants must photograph themselves with within the Sigonella triangle. To participate, please email at Channette.Ingram@eu.navy.mil, or simply stop by School Age Care for the task sheet to begin the hunt! Photo submissions will be accepted by email. At the end of the scavenger hunt, participants will be entered into a raffle to win a prize!

Minecraft Tournament Location: Virtual Starts: 4:30 pm This October, you will have the opportunity to connect with your peers through a Minecraft online gaming tournament! Throughout the tournament, there will be weekly virtual meetings on Discord to share screens and chat with each other. Participants are given one hour to create a design for a given topic or compete in a PvP game. There will be weekly prizes for our winners!

Italian Conversation Group Time: 4:30 - 5:30 pm Are you interested in practicing Italian or using your Italian language skills to help others learn? If so, meet us as we launch our monthly Italian Conversation Group! These informal discussions will be used as a chance to practice and learn the Italian language with others in the community. We will discuss topics of interest to the group in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Walking Book Club Time: 4:30 - 5:30 pm This is similar to a regular book club, except we will take the conversation outside and walk while we discuss the book! Joe Contarino MWR Maintenance Supervisor Joe is one of the most dedicated and hard-working MWR staff members here at NAS Sigonella and we are so very grateful for all of his willingness to always lend a helping hand, especially in a short-notice.

Serving as Maintenance Supervisor, Joe was instrumental in supporting NAS Sigonella and the MWR community in the recent support of Operation Allies Welcome.

Etna North! This trip will be easy-to-moderate intensity, and children must be able to hike the trail terrain for 1-2 hours (2.5/ 3 miles). Along the hike, our guide will point out interesting areas on the volcano, and patrons will have the opportunity to see one of the oldest conifer forests in Sicily, with trees from 200-300 years old, and seven of Etna’s extinct volcanic craters all in one hike! Please remember to bring water, snacks and layers (cotton not recommended).

Witness the beauty of nature as we hike along the Peloritan Mountains where The Godfather was filmed. Afterward, there will be an opportunity to experience some extraordinary local food, homegrown and hand-made by the local villagers!

On this tour, we’ll walk the same paths of Sicily’s conquerors and explore ancient castles, monasteries and caves that played a part in the Noto's daily life. December Sneak Peek: Lemon Farm Hike and Lunch Depart: NAS II 8:30 am, Marinai 8:45 am, NAS I 9:00 am Return: 5:00 pm Cost: $80 (Includes transportation, guide, BBQ lunch and granita) Take in the spectacular views of Catania and Taormina with an easy 2km hike along the Timpa, a natural cliff created from the movement of one of the biggest faults in eastern Sicily. The hike will lead to a local lemon farm where one of the few Granita Masters still in existence will teach the group about this delicious specialty and treat us with a freshly prepared batch of lemon granita. Here, we will also enjoy a lunch comprised of traditional local entrees and sweets.

This will be a staged reading, much like the old time radio shows. Auditions will be held November 3 and 4 in the NAS I Compass Room. We will be in search of 8 actors and 2 foley operators (sound effects).
