Teen Programs

In order to participate, please enroll in our Youth Program by coming into the Youth Complex or calling 624-1750 for more information. Members must be 11 years old and have started the 6th grade to 18 years of age and still in high school.

Artist in Residence Club

Location: Youth Complex Time: 4:00 - 5:30 pm

This month will give youth the opportunity to make Mother’s Day gifts. We will supply materials and give ideas! After that, we will make flowers out of pipe cleaners and brighten up the Youth Complex with a creative flower bouquet. Then we will create art to help us de-stress. Stop by and show us your artistic skills!

BGCA Keystone Club

Keystone club provides leadership development opportunities to Sigonella teens, ages 14-18, in four focus areas including Academic Success, Career Preparation, Community Service, and Teen Outreach. Come in and help plan fun activities for this summer!

We were sad to see our Dungeon Master PCS a few months ago. If you are interested in becoming our new Dungeon Master please reach out. Ms. Madison has been doing an amazing job with our campaign, creating visuals, and teaching youth the game; but, in the world of imagination and Mythical creatures, two heads are better than one. Come be a part of a place where everything happens by chance!

Horseback Riding (Sole Dell'Etna)

On this adventure, Youth will learn how to mount the horse, turn right/left and about the day-to-day care of the horses. Once the basics are covered, the Youth will be assigned horses on a beautiful trail leading to the water. Anyone confident enough in their skills after this will be allowed to try trotting and galloping. Please come to the Youth Complex to sign the waiver, fill out a permission slip and make payment. 10 spots available.

Flower Festival in Noto

The annual “Infiorata” or Flower Festival celebrates the arrival of spring and features an amazing display of fresh flower mosaics that consume Via Nicolaci, in the town of Noto. The traditional 16 sketches will be embellished with film scenes shot in this wonderful city. The entire town participates in this famous Sicilian event with a festive atmosphere and beautiful parade on the main street you do not want to miss! Following the flower festivities, lunch will be served at Agriturismo “La Trota”. Please choose the seafood, meat, or vegetarian meal at the time of registration.

Chris has always been, and continues to be, a huge asset for DoDEA, MWR and CYP. He is often the go-to for ideas, support and networking to get our community what they need. In the last quarter, he helped to ensure several events were coordinated and executed well including Harlem Globetrotters, Easter Eggstravaganza, the DoDEA College and Career Fair and Supplemental Staffing for CYP, to name a few. Chris is known as a “Legend” among Missoula Children’s Theatre, and through his efforts, helped to secure a spot for Missoula at Sigonella this summer. He is also an advocate for additional support for our community and has pushed to help get an adult Military Family Life Consultant (MFLC) for Sigonella. Chris can always be counted on to get the job done well and right the first time, identifying issues before they arise. Thank you, Chris, for everything you do for the Sigonella

Cost: $60 (includes transportation, guide and lunch) Descend more than 1,000 stairs for spectacular views of Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea. This hike will start near Castelmola, continue through Madonna della Rocca and end in the town of Taormina. After the descent, we will go to a local lemon farm to have lunch. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, snacks and sunglasses.

Does it get any better than chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows? Drop in and roast your favorite outdoor snack and enjoy some stories around the campfire.

Etna Night Hike

Depart: NAS II 7:30 pm, NAS I 7:45 pm Time: 11:00 pm Cost: $10

The moon is full and the night is young! Join Liberty for this moonlit adventure on the volcano. This moderate 2-hour hike will overlook old and new lava flows, and if we are lucky, we might even see lava running!

Taormina Shuttle

Depart: NAS II 10:00 am, NAS I 10:15 am Time: 5:00 pm Cost: $15 (includes transportation only, please bring euro for food and any additional purchases) Spend your day with us exploring the beautiful town of Taormina. You will have a chance to see the public gardens and the Greek Theater, enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice, and check out the local shops.
