Etna with a stop in the historic town of Randazzo for a 2.5-hour walking tour. This medieval walled city was devastated in WWII when more than 80% of its houses were destroyed by Allied Forces.

The tour will begin at Donna Fugata Castle, an imposing structure with origins dating back to the mid-16th Century, after which the group will pause for a lunch break at the trattoria located just in front of the castle. After our meal, patrons will tour the city of Ragusa which plays host to a wide array of Baroque architecture and several stunning palaces and churches in the lower Ibla section, including the Cathedral.

Originally founded as a Greek colony in the 6th century B.C., Agrigento became one of the leading cities in the Mediterranean world. The town of Agrigento is known for its spectacular Valley of Temples and the sacred area of ancient Akragas which is one of the most important colonies of the Greek Empire. Join us for a tour of Agrigento's Valley of the Temples, followed by lunch at a local restaurant in San Leone Beach. Please choose between the meat or fish option upon registration.

Join the traditional religious festival that celebrates St. Peter, the Patron Saint of Palazzolo Acreide. Important throughout history, due to its strategic position in the Siracusa Province, Palazzolo Acreide has fine examples of baroque architecture, important historical sites and cultural site. In the afternoon, relax at the La Trota restaurant for lunch. This restaurant specializes in fresh fish that has been raised in their own private ponds. Choose between meat or fish when you register for the trip. This trip needs a minimum of 15 people and the deadline to register is June 23.

This walking tour visits the medieval town of Sperlinga and the Norman castle excavated from rocks. Explore the castle, built on top of caves, that has been inhabited by people since 1080. Climb to the top of the castle and be rewarded with a beautiful view of the surrounding town and countryside. Nicosia’s interesting architecture, both Medieval and Baroque, also offers an impressive number of palaces and churches. This walking tour will be followed by a lunch and 24 Barons beer tasting at the cheese factory, which produces buffalo cheese. Patrons are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Hold on as we tour this volcanic valley, viewing everything that makes it so special - explosive craters, volcanic prismatic formation and charming old buildings with vineyards, where Nerello Mascalese (DOC wine) was cultivated before the Greeks arrived in Sicily. Once on the island, enjoy a tour via van where we will stop at a farm for a Malvasia Wine Tasting (sweet wine produced only in that island), and visit caper fields, which are a local product that are used to flavor Mediterranean dishes. Take in the sights and sounds of the Cassibile Valley! Descend 1,060 feet to the base of a marvelous canyon carved by the Cassibile River! Here you will find emerald green pools of water surrounded by lush oriental palm trees. Please note, this hike is demanding and participants are required to hike back up the canyon after enjoying the beauty at the bottom. Please remember to bring a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, plenty of water, snacks and a packed lunch.
The Ispica Caves, hand-carvved out of the canyon, were inhabited from 2000 BC through the 20th Century in the Hyblean Mountains. Tour this paradise of rock, sun and Mediterranean vegetation as you descend the canyon to the ancient village along the Busaitone River. Along the way, keep your eyes open for clues to how the inhabitants lived. Finish the day at a rustic farmhouse where a light lunch of local cheese, wine and other specialties await. Bring water, snacks, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and sunglasses. We end the tour with a stop by the sea where the river course ends along the beach of Santa Maria del Focallo.

Depart: NAS II 2:30 pm, Marinai 2:45 pm, NAS I 3:00 pm
Return: 9:30 pm Ages: 16+
Cost: $40 (Includes transportation, gear rental, guide and Sicilian BBQ) Enjoy a flat, 23-mile ride along the Simeto River, the main river of Sicily. This trip will begin near NAS I and end at the Simeto River Natural Reserve. This natural oasis offers a rare chance to see migrating birds, including flamingos on their route to Africa. This trip will take approximately four hours to complete. As soon as we arrive at sea, we will enjoy a Sicilian BBQ. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, and be sure to bring water, snacks, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and sunglasses.
