Keystone Club Location: Youth Complex Time: 7:00 - 8:30 pm This Keystone Club provides leadership development opportunities to Sigonella teens, ages 14-18. Teens will participate in activities in four focus areas, including Academic Success, Career Preparation, Community Service & Teen Outreach. Participants will meet at the Marinai Youth Complex on the 1st Friday of every month.

Library JULY 5-8

Tiny Art This week we will provide every patron with a small art canvas and easel that they can use to create their own mini masterpiece. Return your finished artwork and registration form to the Library by August 1 to be included in our Tiny Art Exhibition. All art submissions will be on display from August 10-31. Patrons can use any medium preferred, including paint, colored pencil, graphite, etc.

Torch Club Location: Youth Complex Time: 7:00 - 8:30 pm Torch Club members learn how to work together to implement activities in four key areas, including service to club and community, education, health and fitness, social recreation. Participants will meet the second Friday of every month.

Hannah Pham CYP Assistant – Direct Care Staff Member Hannah continues to shine in the preschool classroom at the Child Development Center. Staff and children consistently benefit from her calm demeanor. Working with several preschool aged children is no easy task. There are many different things happening developmentally in the room and she handles it with ease. Hannah always has great interactions with the children. She prompts them with thought provoking questions to engage them in classroom activities. Hannah is recognized by peers and other colleagues for her resiliency, continued professionalism and knowledge within the classroom. She utilizes strong positive guidance techniques that help her and the team minimize challenging behaviors as they arise. We are proud and lucky to have Hannah on our team!

The path we will walk along, was used for centuries by locals, to carry flour and fish to Acireale from the sea of Santa Maria la Scala. See spectacular views of Catania and Taormina along the way. The trip will culminate at a local lemon farm where one of the few granita masters still in existence will teach the group about this delicious specialty of Acireale and treat us with a freshly prepared batch. Please bring euro for food) Descend more than 1,000 stairs for spectacular views of Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea. This hike will start near Catelmola, continue through Madonna della Rocca and end in the town of Taormina. At the end of the hike, there will be free time to explore Taormina and the opportunity to sit down for a well-earned meal near Isola Bella. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, snacks, a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and sunglasses.

Bring a packed lunch and euro for the cafe) Take in the sights and sounds of the Cassibile Valley! Descend 1,060 feet to the base of a marvelous canyon carved by the Cassibile River! Here you will find emerald green pools of water surrounded by lush oriental palm trees.

Please note, this hike is demanding and participants are required to hike back up the canyon after enjoying the beauty at the bottom. Please remember to bring a swimsuit, plenty of water, snacks and a packed lunch.

If needed, hiking backpacks can be rented from Community Recreation.
