Youth will have the opportunity to create artwork from various categories: printmaking, monochromatic, pastel, airdry clay and more! Registration is required. Bastonaca Winery and Ragusa Ibla

The tour will begin in the town of Ragusa, the home to a wide array of Baroque architecture. View several stunning palaces and churches such as the Cathedral of San Giorgio during the tour. Afterward, relax on the terrace of Bastonaca Winery while you admire the view and taste wines from the local area.
Lizz Best has been the backbone of both fitness centers for the last year. She genuinely cares for her employees and facilities. Since she has been promoted, Lizz has been focused not just on completing her job duties but perfecting them and leaving a legacy for her successor. Recently, Lizz has actively recruited and pushed to onboard 8 new employees. She brings her former management experience in the civilian world and suggests ideas to MWR on how to improve hiring and retention. Thanks, Lizz!

Polar Express on Circumetnea! Depart: NAS II 9:30 am, Marinai 9:45 am, NAS I 10:00 am Return: 4:30 pm Cost: $40 (Includes transportation, guide, train tickets & hot chocolate) Enjoy a magical adventure with your children on the Circumetnea Train, which will be decorated for Christmas. If the children are on the good list, we might even have a visit from Santa Claus himself! Hot chocolate will be served on the train or once we arrive in Randazzo. We will then take the bus back to Sigonella. This trip is recommended for kids of all ages; however, we’ll pay special attention to the little ones on the tour. We recommend the children wear pajamas, just like in the movie, but please bring along a pair of shoes and a jacket because it will be cold when we transfer from the train onto the bus in the town of Randazzo.

Sperlinga, Nativity Scene, Nicosia & Buffalo Cheese Factory

On this walking tour, patrons will have the opportunity to visit the medieval town of Sperlinga and the Norman castle excavated from rocks. Explore the castle built on top of caves that has been inhabited by people since 1080. Climb to the top, and be rewarded with a beautiful view of the surrounding town and countryside. Nicosia’s interesting architecture, both Medieval and Baroque, also offers an impressive number of palaces and churches. This walking tour will be followed by a lunch and 24 Barons beer tasting at the cheese factory, which produces buffalo cheese. There will also be an opportunity to see the local Nativity Scene and hear the history of Saint Nicola. Patrons are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Ice Cave Hike on Mt. Etna
Depart: NAS II 6:30 am, Marinai 6:45 am, NAS I 7:00 am Return: 8:00 pm Ages: 16+ Cost: $40 (Includes transportation and guide) This is a rigorous hike across the lava fields on the north side of Mt. Etna to see the "Ice Cave" better known as Grotta del Gelo. The hike will descend into the caves to explore the lava formations below. Please bring waterproof boots, warm layers, winter attire, water and snacks. Bring a change of socks for post-cave comfort.

If you choose to tour Novara Sicilia, you will visit the water mills and churches in town and finish with lunch at "The Castelluccio" located on the ruins of the Novara's Castle. If you choose to hike Rocca Novara Park, nicknamed the Dolomites of Sicily, you will take a striking hike through the woods that lead to a combined view of Mt. Etna and the Aeolian Islands.
