When the holdup was discovered by local citizens, they began to arm themselves to face down the gang. A battle ensued and lasted only seven minutes. A LIVING HISTORY OF FLIGHT… AND Wings of the North Air Museum is dedicated to presenting aviation from its colorful history to the advanced vehicles of the future. To accomplish this mission we put on annual AirExpo flight demonstrations and displays, symposiums, guest speaker series, school presentations, as well as an aircraft restoration program to bring to historically significant planes to flight. Our museum currently houses numerous beautifully-restored and awardwinning aircraft, including a P-51D Mustang named Sierra Sue II that saw action in Europe during World War II, an AT-6 Texan, and a Boeing N2S-1 Stearman that was used for training at the MSP Naval Air Station during WWII and was flown by future President George Herbert Walker Bush.

Additionally, we host an TBM-3E Avenger, F4U-4 Corsair and many other aircraft that come and go throughout the year. The museum also features displays of aircraft engines, an ejection seat, a WWII Jeep built by Ford, an AT-11 top turret, and other unique exhibits.
