Teatro ZinZanni on Sunday June 19th, Talk Plants with Kasey Eaves on Friday June 16th at our Plant Swap & Talk and a day trip to Starved Rock in July will keep you on your toes, learning and laughing. History lovers can join us for an afternoon of Historical Portrayals of Julia Childs and Rosie the Riveter in August & September!

Are you working to achieve health and wellness goals this summer? Let us help! Our all new fitness classes will jumpstart your routine and set you on the right path. Strength and cardio conditioning based MetKon offered on Thursday mornings, or Sunday Zumba, where you can dance like nobody is watching are perfect ways to get your heart pumping and your body in motion! Relax and refresh with a little evening "me-time" as you destress at one of our StretchLab classes offered monthly on Thursdays at 6pm or our weekly Pilates class on Tuesdays at 7pm. Seniors or those with fitness restrictions can join us at our sought after morning weekday classes, S.A.F.E. and Prime-Time or 10am Pilates Plus on Wednesdays!

Support good causes and make a new friend or two with us during the dog days of summer by attending our Pups and Popcorn Adoption Event on Saturday August 6th where you can meet and apply for adoption of a pet from our participating rescues! Ages: 16 years old and up This class will provide opportunities for artistic growth in drawing and sketching techniques. Beginning students will focus on fundamental concepts such as measurement and proportion, shading and value. Students with previous experience will sharpen their observational skills and experiment with advanced materials and techniques to help develop your own unique style. Mah Jongg Open Play AARP Driver Safety Course

Rosie the Riveter & Rose' Tasting with Lynn Rymz

Adult Taekwondo

Join us for some Rosie and rose'! You'll have the opportunity to taste some great wine and hear teacher, author and history lover Lynn Rymz tell the true story of Geraldine Hoff Doyle, the real woman behind the iconic poster, "We Can Do It." In this 45-minute lecture you will hear her story and the stories of other real-life Rosies who stepped out of their traditional roles to support the war effort during WWII. Taste and vote for your favorite rose' while you gather and chat after the lecture. Light snacks will be provided!

Ages: 14 years old and up Restricted to high school students and older, this program concentrates on Taekwondo techniques through the study of forms, stances, and the skills of punching, kicking, and blocking. This is a great program for those looking to maintain and improve their physical fitness. Classes are taught under the direction of G.Master Ki Hong Kim (9th Dan Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters). A $50 uniform fee is required at the first class. Pilates & Barre Mash up

Ages: 30 years old and up Toning, flexibility, better posture, increased core strength and the body/mind connection are achieved through our Mat Mash-Up work. A variety of equipment adds interest and “mashes-up” the workout so class is always different.

Ages: 30 years old and up Join us for a S.A.F.E. class, formally Sit & Get Fit. Staying mentally, socially, and physically active is the key to maintaining quality of life! This is a seat based class that doesn’t lack intensity of fun. S.A.F.E. is for participants for every ability. We stay active & mobile but remain gentle on the body! Work on increasing range of motion, circulation, flexibility, balance, and strength with easy-to-follow moves. We sometimes use light weights or toning bands!

Ageless Yoga

Ages: 30 years old and up This is a virtual zoom class. This class is designed primarily for those with limited mobility. By modifying classic yoga exercises to easy standing poses and low impact work in a chair, students will have the chance to improve strength and flexibility in a way that is approachable and fun! No materials or prior experience required. Please register online or at The Community House. StretchLab Willowbrook comes on-site with us to give you this one-of-a-kind experience at a one-in-a-million rate! This 50 minute class will offer Flexologist-led group stretches that are a great way to work on your mobility and range of motion in a fun and innovative group setting. Each group session will be customized to the needs of the group. No matter what your fitness or flexibility level is - Jana, our group stretch instructor, will teach you how to use stretch tools like a stretch strap.
