Centro Estudiantil Urbano

Adaptive Reuse [ 06/2020 ]

Abstract

Located in the heart of the Juárez neighborhood, this architectural recycling exercise proposes a mixed-use development that will combine commercial spaces with temporary housing intended for students, thereby promoting functional diversity and the regeneration of the surrounding area. Through this proposal, the goal is not only to preserve the architectural legacy but also to revitalize the area and meet the current needs for housing and commerce.

The project is structured around a partial subtraction of volumes, creating a central courtyard that forms an artificial topography. This spatial strategy is realized through a sequence of openings, which encourage a dynamic integration between the interior and exterior on each level. The ground floor's occupancy is minimized to return the space to the city as recreational areas, helping to alleviate its overcrowded environment. It provides a space designed to contribute and dedicate its program to the floating community that carries out its daily activities in the area.

Confluencia Doctores

Cultural Pavilion [ 05/2021 ]

Abstract

Confluencia Doctores is an urban-scale project in the Doctores neighborhood, CDMX, that addresses issues such as insecurity, urban decay, the lack of public spaces, and the proliferation of informal commerce. The strategy focuses on the intervention of a central axis, connected to roadways that link the interior and exterior of the neighborhood. The project highlights existing key points, integrating them into a Master Plan aligned with current anchor points, with the goal of strengthening the perception and visual identity of the main axis from a holistic approach.

The project is located at Dr. Andrade Ave., on a deteriorating plot of land, and draws from local typologies to develop an industrial-style design. It consists of a plaza that serves as a gathering point for the community's daily activities and a market that will attract people, creating a safer space. On the other hand, the building has 3 levels and houses programs that promote citizen participation, integrating gastronomy, culture, arts, and education in an open-plan space, with modular furniture that will facilitate these activities.

Monte Alto Esmeralda

Apartments Complex [ 08/2023 ]

Abstract

Monte Alto Esmeralda is an exclusive residential development located in the prestigious Zona Esmeralda, State of Mexico. The complex consists of two towers, each with over 8,000 m² of built space, housing 29 apartments of 150 m², each with private terraces of 20 and 45 m². The units are distributed across seven residential levels, complemented by a ground floor dedicated to amenities and a basement designated for parking.

The architectural proposal of the project responds to the orientation of the land, resulting in the creation of two volumes interconnected by a bridge that serves as the functional core of the towers. This configuration generates a central courtyard that optimizes natural lighting and ventilation for the interior spaces. The "L"-shaped layout of the residences not only maximizes the use of open areas but also ensures high thermal comfort and spatial efficiency. It opens up to its privileged context, allowing views of the nearby federal reserves at all times.

Ponte Caldelas

Vacation House [ 06/2024 ]

Abstract

Located in Ponte Caldelas, just minutes from the city of Vigo, Spain, this vacation home is set on a 2,897 m² plot with a descending topography, featuring a fourteen-meter slope from its highest to lowest point, offering panoramic views of green areas. With a built area of 1,216 m², the architectural design responds to the site's climatic conditions through an east-west orientation, optimizing natural light intake and integration with the surroundings.

The residence is distributed across two levels, designed to be isolated from the exterior, providing maximum privacy to the bedrooms. The upper floor, with street-level access, houses the main social areas: living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bathroom, terrace, porch, storage room, and a garage with space for four vehicles. The lower floor is dedicated to the private area, featuring three junior bedrooms with walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms, two master bedrooms, and a social area that includes an event hall, infinity pool, summer kitchen, and service areas.

Residential House [ 12/2024 ]

Abstract

Located in Rancho San Juan, Zona Esmeralda, this residence of over 1,200 m² emerges as an architectural response to its site. Developed on a 1,065 m² corner lot, the composition is defined by two volumes that engage with the geometry of the site, articulated through a core that absorbs the angular intersection of both bodies. The materiality and layout of the spaces reinforce an architectural proposal that prioritizes spatial flow and integration with the surrounding context. The design responds to the site's orientation, with facades opening to the east and west to enhance natural lighting and cross ventilation.

The house is spread across three levels, optimizing the relationship between public and private spaces. The basement houses a garage for 6 vehicles, 3 service rooms, a laundry room, and a home theater. The ground floor concentrates the living room, dining room, kitchen, and study, complemented by a swimming pool and an event hall. On the upper level, 3 junior bedrooms with walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms are integrated into a family room that connects to the gym and a terrace, while the master bedroom features another terrace, a walk-in closet with direct access to the gym, and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. Finally, the rooftop area can be utilized as a rooftop terrace.
