Dear Class of 2023, Finally, the anticipation over this monumental day has come to an end! Welcome to your first day at Mounds View High School. Not only will MV turn into a familiar home for you over the next four years, but it will also push your boundaries, test your character and greatly change your outlook on life. As scary as that might seem, understand that there are hundreds of other freshmen undergoing the same changes, and everything will turn out for the better. To get the most out of your high school experience, make sure to take advantage of the extensive opportunities present at Mounds View. Ranging from more popular options, like going to a football game on a Friday, to lesserknown endeavors, such as recycling with Synergy, the various activities at MV are sure to keep you occupied. We advise you to participate in as many extracurriculars as you feel is right. You might not love everything you try, but you will never know unless you give it some effort! Although the transition to high school will certainly bring extra homework and harder classes, do not let it control you. Instead, find a healthy balance with the other aspects of your life and remember that you know what is ultimately best for you. Enjoy your first day, but more importantly, enjoy your next four years as a Mustang.
Best of luck,
The Viewer Editors

Student services is where you can meet with your dean. If you have any issues with your schedule or need a pass for various reasons, Student Services is the place to go to.
The cafeteria is where students can grab a bite from any of the five food choices.
The lower commons is the hotspot for Mounds View students before school starts. Chat with your friends here before the day starts!
The auditorium is where class meetings, concerts and plays are held. Students also come here to hang out during ReF.L.E.C.T.
In addition to hosting band, orchestra and choir, you can always find students practicing their instruments in the many practice mods located in the music wing.
The main gym is where various sports teams practice and also where you can cheer on your friends when they face rival schools.
The library stays busy throughout the day as students study, socialize, eat lunch and get coffee.
Students like to come here between classes and during ReF.L.E.C.T. to socialize with their friends. Sometimes, science classes will host experiments here.
The coolest room in the school!
The basement is where some classes along with many freshmen lockers are located.
The District Technology Department is off-limits to students.
Once construction is complete, you can expect to find a gym that holds four basketball courts with ample natural light and an indoor track located on the second floor.
