Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is a well justified candidate and has been involved with the government her whole career. But others feel as if Republican candidate Donald Trump would be a better choice.

Trump is a bigoted, racist, misogynistic bully who is unfit to run the United States of America. By voting for Trump, voters are throwing out the progress that the nation has made with human rights in the past 50 years. Homosexuals, African Americans, Hispanics, Women, Muslims, and many others could be in danger of losing all of the momentum that they have gained in the past.

When it comes to experience and qualifications, the only viable presidential candidate in this race is Clinton. Her service as Secretary of State, her role in the senate, and her work with underprivileged children help clarify that she is the best option for voters in this election.

Trump, on the other hand, has vast experience with reality television but no experience in government. He has frequently lashed out at those who oppose him and can not be trusted with the power that comes with a presidency. The president plays a key role in international relations, and handling turmoil with other countries goes beyond attacking them. Rather than finding a solution through compromise, Trump would further separate countries and hinder future relations.

Not only is immigration a huge topic in the 2016 election, but one of the candidates has proven to be racist time and time again. With plans to build a wall along the U.S.–Mexico border and claims that those immigrating into the country are rapists, a Trump presidency would result in the deportation of at least eleven million undocumented immigrants living in the states.

While these immigrants are in the country illegally, they still play a crucial part of the American economy and many of them should be given the opportunity to file for legalization. Moreover, Trump’s racist attitude would result in many innocent civilians potentially being subject to questioning and racist policies. In fact, the only people who will be safe during a Trump presidency are rich, white, straight men. Every other demographic is subject to some combination of increased taxes, racist policies, and sexual harassment and assault–all of which have come directly from Trump in the 2016 election. People who vote for third-party candidates because they are unsatisfied with the two-main party options are knowingly wasting their votes because they can afford to do so.

To them, a Trump presidency presents itself as a mild inconvenience. To everyone else, a Trump presidency means four years of living in fear and opposition.

The irony of third-party voters is that they are just as likely to complain about a Trump presidency as voters who don’t throw away their votes are. If those that are against Trump vote for Clinton and he still wins, then they will have done everything in their power to prevent a Trump presidency. However, if they vote third party and Trump becomes president, then they have no right to complain, because they knew their candidate wouldn’t win. Voters should either make an active decision to support and vote for Trump, or they’re with her. There is no third-party middle ground.

No matter how debated Donald Trump’s qualifications are, he far surpasses Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s competency to serve as president. Clinton has proved untrustworthy, and change will only come to America with a change in administration. Trump should be elected because the country needs to fix its domestic and foreign policies.

While Trump’s immigration plans may be extreme, they will not only help preserve American jobs, but they will also help with national security. According to Trump’s website, his immigration plan has three major points: to select immigrants based off their compatibility with U.S. lifestyle, choose those who support American values and enforce the immigration laws stated in the Constitution. These measures will help America protect its domestic industry and its citizens.

On the other hand, Clinton wants open borders. In a private, paid speech to a Brazilian bank on May 16, 2013, Clinton said, “My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders, some time in the future with energy that is as green and sustainable as we can get it, powering growth and opportunity for every person in the hemisphere.”

The flaw with this plan is that there are already two million convicted undocumented criminals inside the United States. These aliens are taking American jobs-- in fact, one out of every twenty workers are illegal immigrants, according to Newsmax Media. This has created problems with domestic industry and internal security. Her presidency will only continue to hinder the United States.

We need Trump to fix these issues.

One of the worst events during the Obama administration was the

implementation of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. Not only has Obamacare made health care anything but affordable, but it’s also promised that all health care providers would be available on it as stated

However, according to U.S. News, insurance companies such as Aetna, UnitedHealth and Humana have left Obamacare due to poor profits.

This has broken the law’s promise to continue to reduce the number of people who are too sick or too poor to access coverage. Obamacare also violates religious rights that are protected within the U.S. Constitution.

Religious organizations and private businesses are required to provide free sterilization, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs to their employees, even if doing so violates their religious beliefs. Clinton fully supports the Affordable Care Act, which directly infringes upon U.S. citizens’ natural rights. The only way to protect our freedom is to elect Trump, who will put an end to this law. He plans to work with Congress to implement free market principles that will broaden health care access, make healthcare more affordable and improve the quality of the care available to all Americans. According to Trump’s website, this will be done through market competition, tax deductibles and Health Savings Accounts, all of which are logical solutions. This replacement is sure to be much more beneficial than anything Obamacare has done.

Some worry that Trump’s behavior is largely unpresidential.

While he’s been known to say impolite and offensive statements, many Americans say similar statements every day. In fact, it’s unjust of Clinton to call out Trump’s treatment of women. She tore down women in the same fashion as Trump when she went after the women who accused her husband of infidelity and

rape. According to the Daily Wire, Hillary has said such outrageous statements such as “I’d crucify her,” about Gennifer Flowers, a woman who had an affair with Bill Clinton in 2002. Trump has been the only candidate in the limelight for his actions, but Clinton deserves the same retaliation for hers.

Clinton has lied countless times while holding office. One of the most underrated crimes of the past year is the Hillary Clinton email scandal. In this affair, she sent nearly 60,000 emails, over which 2,000 were listed “confidential,” from a private server. This is highly illegal because it threatens the national security of the United States if the server were to be hacked or infiltrated at any time due to decreased safety measures. Many of these irresponsibly sent emails related to the Benghazi attacks causing the death of four Americans. She denied sending emails on any private server until the FBI got involved and uncovered the truth. She then released 30,000 emails, but has yet to release an estimated 30,000 more. Only then did she admit she was at fault, but still claims to have never broken the law. Clinton further states these emails were minor mistakes, and she did not know this was against the law. Either Clinton is extremely ignorant or she willingly lied under oath. In either case, she is unfit to be president.

Trump should be elected for president because the U.S. needs a change in administration. The Clintons have served in office for far too long and have done far too little to improve our society. In fact, Hillary’s time as Secretary of State has only proved that she is not fit for the presidential role. Trump would not only improve not only our domestic issues, such as healthcare, but also our foreign issues, like immigration policies. Why Vote?

Because of the widely opposing viewpoints between the two popular parties, voters play an important role in deciding who will best serve the country. Anyone who is eligible to vote this election should exercise their right by casting a ballot.

Due to the great significance of this year’s election, voters must research the candidates’ stances on influential topics—peer pressure and lack of knowledge should not influence voters to vote for a certain candidate. On topics such as immigration laws, taxation, climate change, gun control and abortion, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump’s stances vary substantially. And remember, people who don’t cast a ballot have no right to complain about the outcome of the election.

Ever since 1787, when the Constitution gave a select number of Americans the right to vote, voting has been a hallmark of the United States. The Founding Fathers believed that the American people should hold the power to influence their governing body. This country was built on the right to vote, and it is crucial to uphold the democratic beliefs that America was founded upon. Voting allows you to express your concerns about modern issues, giving you a voice where you would otherwise remain silent.

Today, women, along with people of all ethnicities, can fill out a ballot. However, this freedom didn’t come easily. Minority groups have long been discriminated against within America. This has led to a long road of protests to gain what should be an unalienable right. Despite the struggles to win this right, only around 57.5% of Americans vote. It is tragic that our citizens do not fully capitalize on the right that some people around the world are still fighting for. Voting not only lets citizens speak their mind, it also honors the struggles of those who could not vote.

Many people don’t want to vote because they believe their choice of candidates are undesirable. However, the power of the president not only affects the White House, but also reaches the Supreme Court and other important government positions. For example, presidents can appoint Supreme Court Justices who align with their party’s viewpoints. Along with the president, the vice president also holds deciding power over the Senate and holds large influence over what bills will be passed through to law.

The president also has the power to appoint czars, specialists on particular national issues such as drug enforcement and climate change. Which candidate would you rather have authority over four million federal employees such as the post office, NASA and the CIA? In the wrong hands, that type of power could prove to be catastrophic.

If you are under 18 years old and have a sibling or parent who is eligible to vote, talk with them about participating in the upcoming election. They are not only voting for themselves but for future generations to come. The outcome of this election will change the course of history no matter who wins. When standing in line at the polling station, you should vote for yourself, but more importantly, vote for those who are powerless to share their own opinions, such as those who are yet to be born, and those who have died fighting for this right you have been given.

What type of world would they want to live in? Who would they want to be the leader of the country the worked so hard to defend?

As Franklin Roosevelt once said, “Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.”
