Dear Class of 2022, You’ve made it! Congrats, and welcome to your first day of high school. These next four years will bring some of the most fun and stressful times of your life, and probably a lot of firsts as well. You’ll make new friends, keep old friends and learn about yourself along the way. You’re not alone on this journey — there are 459 other freshmen finding their way through Mounds View with you. We encourage you guys to become close with those around you — not only your peers but also your dean and teachers. Make sure to take advantage of the resources around you! Ask your Mustang Mentors any questions you may have, join clubs and sports and get to know your dean (see inside this issue for a head start). Mounds View offers hundreds of courses, from the core classes like Biology and Calculus to electives like Child Psychology and Foods. While you may not be able to try each one, use these next four years as a time to explore your interests and potentially earn college credit while you’re at it. Remember, regardless of how prepared (or unprepared) you feel, you’ll soon find your niche. As you begin this new chapter of your life, dream big, set goals and work for them! Also, if you can’t seem to find something that piques your interest, you can always work towards starting your own club! Viewer Mission Statement

Tuesday, September 4, 2018 The paddock is the place to go for students looking for a quiet workspace, and it is also conveniently connected to the deans’ offices. Mounds View’s cafeteria provides a wide variety of options for food, including the student body’s beloved cookies and popcorn chicken.
The auditorium is the place to be when school plays, musical performances, class meetings and many other events happen.
If you’re in orchestra, band or choir, the music wing is where your practices and rehearsals will take place. There are also private practice rooms open for sharpening your musical skills. The front gym holds many major sports events like basketball and volleyball games. It also hosts other events such as the Physics Fair.
The lower commons is the central hub of the school and is usually packed with students in the morning, after school and during special events that may take place here.
The Viewer Room is the most important room in the building, and the Viewer’s editors can be found here busy at work.
The upper commons is similar to the lower commons but serves mainly as a center of student traffic in between class periods.
Scooby Doo, where are you?
The library provides a wide variety of tools for access, including books, computers, 3D printers, conference rooms and even a sewing machine. Seating is plentiful and many students who bring lunch from home gather here.You can also stop by the Mustang Mocha coffee shop for some coffee or a snack.
The basement holds classes and many freshman lockers.
