Dear Class of 2022, You’ve made it! Congrats, and welcome to your first day of high school. These next four years will bring some of the most fun and stressful times of your life, and probably a lot of firsts as well. You’ll make new friends, keep old friends and learn about yourself along the way. You’re not alone on this journey — there are 459 other freshmen finding their way through Mounds View with you. We encourage you guys to become close with those around you — not only your peers but also your dean and teachers. Make sure to take advantage of the resources around you! Ask your Mustang Mentors any questions you may have, join clubs and sports and get to know your dean (see inside this issue for a head start). Mounds View offers hundreds of courses, from the core classes like Biology and Calculus to electives like Child Psychology and Foods. While you may not be able to try each one, use these next four years as a time to explore your interests and potentially earn college credit while you’re at it. Remember, regardless of how prepared (or unprepared) you feel, you’ll soon find your niche. As you begin this new chapter of your life, dream big, set goals and work for them!
