FIND MEANING Students who go to MVNU want more out of their college experience than just a job after graduation. They want to use this time to find belonging, to figure out who they are meant to be, and how they want to impact the world. We prepare them to make a difference in the world. Our general education curriculum includes courses that emphasize skill acquisition, encourage understanding and knowledge, and invite engagement with the goal of producing graduates who are well-rounded, purposeful individuals committed to scholarship, character, and service. Part of this process involves helping students discover their callings, the places where, as Frederick Buechner explains, their “deep gladness” meets “the world’s deep hunger.”

GROW IN YOUR FAITH Students from any denomination or faith background are welcome at MVNU, but everything we do is rooted in our perspective as part of the Church of the Nazarene, following in the footsteps of Jesus and serving others. Spiritual formation is at the heart of our mission, and our Christian worldview is integrated into all aspects of the MVNU experience.

Every freshman is involved in Belong Groups — small groups designed for freshmen to build relationships as soon as they arrive.
