Mount Vernon Nazarene University has received $25,000 from the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County to assist in the creation of a Nursing Skills Simulation Lab. Director of Nursing Dr. Teresa Wood said that the funds will assist in the purchase of “SimMan,” which combines well-proven software and an interactive, technologically advanced “manikin” allowing students to practice the treatment of patients in a safe, simulated environment. SimMan’s interactive capabilities provide immediate feedback to students’ attempts at nursing intervention. See more at www.mvnu.edu/news.
